His undergrad and grad degrees were both in Education
Would his ascension mean continuing the Slive lead for better academics in the SEC?

Sankey's a good man - not sure they will go that route though.
But, yes, the SECU initiative would be high on the priority order under a Sankey commissionership, but athletics wouldn't suffer.

When Slive's retirement was announced, writers and journalists and what not who cover the league were acting like it was a foregone conclusion that Sankey will be the replacement.

Im not sure its a foregone conclusion but he is the most obvious choice. I would be surprised if they went another direction.
