I will be overjoyed if we land him. Any new updates on Cowart?

Not that it means anything but we had coaches stop by and visit him today. Good to see that we're at least continuing to show some interest.

They were probably just touching base and letting him know that they would not be his coaches if he were to sign there.

Any new updates on Cowart?

I'll repost what I posted on the Alabama Megathread:

Jefferson had kind of a "meh" response, but the interview was from his dad who is a gator fan. Not sure if that is what Jefferson is communicating to him, or if his dad is having a hard time with the possibility that his son might not be a gator when all is said and done. Jefferson did go on twitter and say after his Bama visit that he still hasn't experienced an atmosphere as "live as the Grove."

With Cowart it was a different vibe. It almost sounded like it is a Bama/UF battle. He was talking up the similarities between Alabama and his high school program. He was also saying that he has visited UF 3-4 times, so he needs to give Alabama equal attention. He has OVs planned for different schools, but sounded like he may cancel those to visit Bama for Miss St. and Iron Bowl. He said he doesn't expect to be recruited as hard by the coaches the next time he visits, but to hang out with the players and make sure that what he felt this weekend is the same. "Seeing if I still feel at home there" was one of the lines he gave BOL. Sounded very promising.

I think he will probably visit y'all when Bama plays at LSU and Auburn plays at OM.

ETA: Per a poster on BOL, the OV's that Cowart currently has scheduled that conflict with Miss St/Iron Bowl are Florida and Florida State.

I'd put our chances of landing Cowart at around 55% unless UF hits it out of the park on their coaching hire. Cece around 5%.

I see Cowart as a pretty big pipe dream but CeCe seems so attainable at this point. I'm focused on us landing him.

With Bama it is the exact opposite. I could legitimately see Cowart signing with us especially if he cancels his UF OV to visit for the Miss St. game. He's going to give UF consideration regardless of coaching changes, but if we continue to build on the relationship he has with our coaches and players, I could see him being the Da'Shawn Hand/Rashaan Evans surprise recruit this year.

Cece is a pipe dream for Bama IMO. Probably another broken package deal.

A lot of our fans got excited over Cowart saying he might OV to us and had been speaking with Cece about us. I posted it here but I don't think it means much at all. What Cece had to say was more important IMO.

I'm excited about it because even if he doesn't commit, it shows other croots that one of the top in the country considered. All good press.
