How in the hell is LSU above UGA? Power Rankings group went full retard on that one.

Seriously. Whoever wrote the Bama one is a massive tool.

My best guess is UGA was punished for having such a close game with what the committee considered an inferior UT squad. Couple that with LSU finally settling with the better of their QBs, LSU got the edge (by a point).

Even though UGA dropped a position in the rankings, they actually gained points this week

Dores have now flatlined.

Lots of other jumbling in the middle and top. Went from 3 -4 distinct groups to all kinds of variance.

Although it is between the #11 and #12 teams in the ranking, the game this weekend between TN and UF appears to be as even in votes (TN with 2 more) as I expect it will be on the field.

Should be an intense matchup with A LOT of emotion on both sides.

1) Wisconsin is a top 15 team. LSU beat them.

2) Clemson has 2 losses and hasn't looked like a top 15 team.

3) Georgia lost to a 2-loss South Carolina team that was way overrated.

4) LSU lost to 4-0 and #12 MSU.

Georgia is only ranked ahead of LSU in the polls as a result of starting with a higher preseason rank.

It's not hard to figure out.

All of this optimism is going to ultimately doom us. I just know it.

Both have one loss

LSU probably has the best win (Wisconsin)
Georgia probably has the worst loss (South Carolina)

Certainly within reason to have LSU above UGA right now.

A lot of unwarranted anger towards the voters this week - possibly a lot of teams thought they deserved better, and don't agree with the logic of the voters.

I agree with the overall logic. The point is to look at it from both a current AND overall perspective. Both LSU and UGA looked deficient last week, but LSU's body of overall work looks better.

Hogs have not won an SEC game in how long, in 2 SEC games this year how many points have they scored in the 2nd Half?? Sorry they may end up that high but now they really should be behind both Mizzou and USC.

Sorry we can't all play in the East.

The ranking was combined input of 30 voters. They are all independent and do not vote in collusion. They definitely do not all agree with each other, at least at this relatively early point in the season.

I'm not a bit surprised that there are those who disagree with these rankings. But the methodology is sound, and the sample size is large enough that they are at least credible.

And the beauty of it is, it'll resolve itself as the season moves forward and teams play each other.
