Bert is too hands off during the game, he's all too often listening to the Coordinators on the headset looking confused and like he thinks he might have caught a whiff of the bratwurst vendor guy coming through the stands instead of correcting and ripping aholes.

This was from a Hog fan in the "no call" thread. Is this the prevailing thought on Bert?

He has always been a defensive guy as a coach, I don't see why Arkansas fans would bitch about him not controlling his OC.

Their defense was pretty solid against the Aggies

He's not really a Gameday coach. He lets his coordinators coordinate for the most part. He assembles all the pieces and watches his work. I'm alright with that because seeing guys like Muschamp and Les frick around with the offense too much has got to be infuriating for their fans. I do hope he lays into Chaney this week that we're not a fricking passing team though.

No.

He lets his coordinators do what they are paid to do. He is more of the CEO type.

Thats what we hired and we knew this with him coming in....why would we expect him to do different?

I don't see how anybody can blame Bielema for what Chaney called.

Dude just kept having that QB throw or toss the ball to the RB. IT's like he forgot their line was quick, his lineman are bigger and slow.

IDIOT, TOSSES WON'T WORK ON 3r/4th DOWN BECAUSE THEIR DEFENSE WILL BE SHOOTING THE GAPS!

^^ That is what I yelled at the screen after he did it late in the 4th messing up the field goal angle. When he did it in OT again, I just SMH.

You call giving up 35 points and losing solid defense?

No, my personal prevailing feeling is excitement about how much better we play now than before- way ahead of where I thought we'd be. I'm impressed with BB more now than ever.
