You have to respect the work Vandy is putting against some stiff competition. The #5 spot doesn't count as it is the traditional big team that somehow messed the bed. So we are looking at a #4 ranking for the Commodores. What is going to hurt Vandy going forward is that botched win over UMass.
Lose that game and Vandy is walking real loud and talking real proud as the worst team in the Bottom 10. Now, well, they are going to need some help to reach the promise land. It won't be enough to lose, and lose badly; no, they have to hope some horrifically bad programs roll up some wins.
I hate to say it, but it looks unlikely now. Go ahead and win a few games, even an SEC game if you can. Sometimes the margin of error between good and great is just a razors edge. It was tough win for you guys.
