Could you imagine the distraction he'd be?

Great talent, shite person. Give me Sims all day.

The best part about this is the media's stirring up how light the half game suspension was and then they put him on camera every chance they got Saturday night.

He's probably a rapist, and for that he shouldn't be playing football anymore. But the shite he's done recently is pretty mild.

For sure... but that doesn't mean he would have been good for US/Saban.

He may have been a completely different person at Alabama. Some kids go away to college and get surrounded by bad influences. Who knows? The whole ordeal is just odd because people talked so much about his "tremendous" character when he was at Hueytown.

I'd like to think that Saban would've kept him under control. Its obvious that we probably never had a real chance at getting him because Jameis wants the spotlight and Saban is not the kind of coach who would just freely hand it over to him.

IMO, Winston has made Jimbo look like a clown. I've lost a lot of respect for Fisher due to this mess. Can any of you imagine a suspended player for Saban actually dressing out?

Sims story is awesome. Great guy who waited his turn and absolutely worked hard to earn it when nobody gave him a shot.

coworkers niece went to school with him(same class) and the FSU stuff is pretty much on par with high school stuff, including the female issues, according to her.

Third party hearsay but take it FWIW

Consistent though. The kid can't get out of his own way.

If Saban could keep Rolando under wraps perhaps he could keep this juvenile from being such a frick up. That said, Sims is doing an outstanding job this season.

That's because Saban TRULY believes no one individual is greater than the program.. It's not rhetoric to him. I believe he would rather lose a game with a team full of young men who do things the right way than with an individual or team full of "prima donnas"... Jimbo, not so much...

My son (who is 8) and I were watching the FSU -Clemson game. It was ridiculous that the producers kept cutting to Winston and his antics on the sideline, I nearly turned the TV off in disgust. That dude is an embarrassment to the State of Alabama and college football in general.
Sims, on the other hand, is a credit to the University, the Team and Coach Saban. He represents everything that is still right about college sports.

I always looked at Jimbo as the best of the Saban disciples (obviously pretty easy with the likes of Muschamp and Dooley in that club). And I always assumed he ran a similar tight ship, how he deals with Winston's antics will go a long way with how I view Fisher.

Wait, wait, wait. Fisher banned him for a whole game. Sure that might seem lenient for shaming the whole program but Jimbo took out his Heisman QB for a top 25 team conference match up... that went to overtime. Say what you want, but if that's not placing the program.... slightly... over a player, then what is?

Like A.J. and Johnny. Though I doubt Blake and Winston are best buds in real life.

Several people have claimed the suspension came from the AD and University President, not Fisher.
