Chavis is going to make Dak try to beat LSU by himself. Unless you're Cam Newton, that's not going to happen.

In order for LSU to pull this one out they absolutely must show up.

I don't think you realize how well this plays into tGrind this week.

Agree we will have trouble throwing against a 4-2-5. The key in that case will be if we can run the QB draw effectively because in that set that will be the defenses weak point. Quick slants in the middle and QB draws will force a defensive change to bring more in the box and allow us to air it out.

Play calling will be our key. We have a balanced offense that can spread a defense thin forcing 1 on 1 situations if we make the proper calls. Our D stopping the run will be key also...force a young QB to throw in the face of pressure and hope our secondary does just enough

I think that's where LSU will win a crucial battle. You won't be able to throw it. Not to the point where we'll respect that. We have too much talent in our Secondary relative to your multi-receiver set's collective skill set and talent levels.

If that happens, its all a matter of whether our DL can stop the run. If we can adequately hold at the point of attack-and I admittedly say if here-then we will really make it tough on State to move the chains and put points on the board.

Even having success with your Front 7, if you can't keep them off the field, we'll eventually establish a TOP-related advantage to wear you down and shrink the back end of the game while scoring some late points to pull away.

An unmentioned aspect to this game that no one has hit on is special teams. For State to win any of the battles this year, especially against a stout defense which will keep them out of the endzone, is with a kicking game. Their kicking game has been comical this year and without being able to trust your kicker to put points on the board (or even make an extra point) it's going to greatly alter their game plan and make it very tough to pull out with any wins in the West this year.

Well, I can honestly say this is the best WR corp that Miss State has every had, so if your secondary can shut it down then more power to you.
I know we had Moulds years ago, but.... we only had Moulds. You guys are under estimating our WRs. I'll leave it at that.

In 2010, LSU had two future Top 10 picks, three 1st Round Draft Picks, and at least 7 players in all drafted in the first 3 rounds of the next three NFL Drafts in its Defensive Backfield.

I am honest about saying that I believe our current Secondary is superior to what we rolled out in 2010. There is more experience and talent from top to bottom from 1st to 2nd string. From the starting corners to Safeties to the Nickel and Dime personnel, I have a feeling you may be underestimating just how talented we are.

To put it into perspective, we signed two Five-Stars in the Secondary from the last recruiting cycle-Jamal Adams and Ed Paris, Jr. Neither of them have cracked the regular rotation at this point.

I'm sure you have talent at wideout. This is the SEC, and in particular, this is the SEC West. But, LSU's current backfield is on another level.

Best of luck.

Bumped this thread to take my medicine. Could not have been more wrong about the disparity in skill set, nor Chief's troops ability to be outschemed and so easily out athleted.

State was clearly the better team. They were clearly better prepared. They were clearly the better coached. They clearly deserved to win.

Congrats to tGrinders on a long awaited and richly deserved victory.
