A lot of Hollywood films have been set in the Landmass.

A few come to mind:
Mississippi Burning
A Time To Kill
The Help
The Blind Side
O Brother, Where Art Thou?

I can recall many references to Ole Miss in Hollywood movies but I can't recall any character ever making any reference to State. It's like they don't exist to Hollywood.

I haven't seen any Evan Stone flicks but I'd like to keep this discussion to Hollywood flicks, not flicks from the San Fernando Valley.

Does Hollywood hate State or what?

I'm sure some of the farmhands in those flicks were State supporters.

Don't forget The Program.

Eastern State kicked our arse in Williams Brice Stadium.

State is too much like an HBCU to qualify for the Hollywood geeks...

They ended in Oxford.

LSU got a nice plug in the movie with the whole "Death Valley" speech.

Apparently the Egg Bowl was on TV during one of the scenes but I don't think the characters say anything about State at all.

I am ok about not being associated with the movies about how racist the state is.

Good point.

Speaking of, the story of State's 1963 basketball team would make a terrific movie:

If Hollywood never makes a movie about that 1963 State team, then I'll safely conclude they really do hate State.

ETA: Better link: LINK

What an incredible story.

I think Hollywood likes to make the South look racist as a whole.

Pretty common knowledge.

Hollywood is about as knowledgeable of the state of Mississippi as espn is. People in those films only think there is one major school in Mississippi and that anyone referencing State is talking about OM. Having said that, few people in Hollywood know anything about Ole Miss, Mississippi State, the state of Mississippi, or any other school in the south. Hollywood is a different planet!

I remember that now that you jogged my memory.

I do believe I chuckled as well because it was very unexpected. I think my wife hit rewind on the DVR for a double take.

Hollywood may hate State but apparently State is represented in Santa Monica. And Chatsworth.
