I personally think Spurrier's decision to run more over passing it in the 2nd half - with a lead initially of only 11 points - is what kept USC from beating UGA by an even larger margin. Thompson was 19 - 26 (73%) for 240 yds and 3 tds in the first half.

Yeah but you dont know that, do you? All we know is that y'all couldn't stop anything in the 1st half.
It'd be one thing if we continued to try to throw in the n2d half, but all of a sudden our receivers weren't wide open as they were, and the passing game stalls. But that didn't happen. Thompson was 2-4 in the 2nd half: his 2 completions came in his FIRST 2 PASS ATTEMPTS OF THE 2ND HALF, for 31 yards. So much for that theory on UGA 2nd half adjustments. But then USC called FIVE (5) straight run plays, and USC continues to drive for a TD on that opening possession. After that, Thompson only attempts 2 more passes- one which was intercepted - and just handed the ball to his RBs. We didn't even look to throw.
Spurrier knows how to call passing plays to more than one spot on the field. We just didn't pass anymore, but chose to run the ball instead....

Both teams were on the wrong end of bad calls. Both teams went head to head, fought hard, and made the best of bad situations. In the end SCAR came out on top. I think the intensity of the game gets lost in the “what ifs”. I wish UGA had won, but let’s not forget this was a really good game that delivered some excellent ratings.
The real question is, why is UGA always on the wrong side of “instant classics?” i.e. Bama ’12, Auburn ’13, and to a lesser extent SCAR ’14

USC won that's the end of it. Sometimes the the inferior team pulls off the upset. Seriously though the OBC will ALWAYS make sure his team is up for UGA. Time for Richt to do the same

I love UGA fans posting that pic as evidence that it was short. The stick IS LEANING AWAY from the ball in that pic. Of course the terrible spots aren't going to be mentioned but who cares. I hope they keep thinking it was due to bad calls. Whatever makes them madder.
