Apparently Malik Newman(potential #1 recruit in the country) just set an official visit to A&M the weekend of the Ole Miss game as well. I don't really understand it, but Kennedy is doin some serious 'crootin!

Its not Kennedy its his new Ast. Rick Stansbury who is the former HC at Mississippi State. Malik Newman's dad played for Stansbury at State. Also, Stans was known for his recruiting and ability to sign high profile kids with "his system"

Well his system can be writing checks for all I care. We need to win.

I played ball with DJ a few weeks ago
I know he's rated 4* but I just didn't see it at the time. When I was in high school I played against Brad Stricker (center for A&M in the mid/late 90s). He was a big man (6' 10" ?) and was well recruited, but in multiple games in HS all I could think was "for his size he sucks". And sure enough, he averaged something like 10 minutes/game and 2.5 pts.
I hope DJ pans out better but I just didn't get the feeling he was a big time player.

I'm now thoroughly convinced we're paying basketball recruits...and I don't mind.

DJ is a top 5 shooter in the country, and hasn't even filled out his frame. He is rated highly for his upside.

Oh, so all the other coaches and scouting services are wrong. Makes sense
