with his hire at DC. Would that be safe to say?
He hit a homerun imo.

Half time adjustments. That won me over.

weird wording, imo. this is his 14th year here, so I don't know how many people he's winning over that he already hasnt. The Pruitt hire was definitely a good one and unexpected, but who knows how long Pruitt will be here.
I guess he may have won over the faction that thought he was too loyal to his assistants or whatever, but idk, at this point you either like him (as a coach, it would be near impossible to not like him as a person) or not.

I hear ya...but I don't think Richt was on the hot-seat coming into this year or anything. valid or not, a lot of people think the injuries really hurt us last year. Throw in a shitty Grantham Defense and that bullshite on the plains and its hard to blame Richt for last year.
maybe I'm just misunderstanding your angle here.

So far so good.
Season is young, though.

Well yea, I mean the "rah rah" defensive thread is a little over the top, but the players seem to respond to his style of coaching.IMO I think we will know a lot more about this team after the UT game "win or lose" at S.C.
Theoretically (and I base this on pure perception) tDawgs could drop the SC game in a tight race, but no way can they lose at home to Tennessee and expect to get much beyond the gator bowl.
That's the way I read the tea leaves and I'm blind, so it doesn't really matter.

Football message boards are composed of a non-stop stream of psychological defense mechanisms, rationalizations, and group think. Every fan base loves their bright new coach who replaced the bad old coach.

Richt is what he is at this point. He's never going to be a coach like Saban who micromanages every aspect of the program, but he's good enough to win with if he's got a good staff, especially on defense. He's from the Bowden school of coaching. Hopefully Pruitt is his Mickey Andrews. Bobo is a lot like Richt was at FSU.

Richt has always said he wanted to be a great CEO of the program. It's no mystery that he's an offensive coach not a great defensive mind. He has always had a pretty competitive offense and given a great defensive coordinator he can win games...
That's been his issue. He has to depend on a great defensive coordinator to make that side of the line function or the team turns into a Big 12 style team...absolutely having to out score the opposition.
this is a very true and correct analysis of Richt...i like him...let him stay until he is ready to retire...if he gets him/us a Natty...these years he has been here will be considered the greatest years of UGA football ever when our kids are our age...

I've come around to that way of thinking.
Initially, I loved Richt from '01 to '07. However from about '08 (Bama blackout was my tipping point) until '12 I wanted St. Mark gone post haste. Major Negadawg like my screen name indicates.
But I've come to accept him. Really hope he can lead UGA to the Natty before he retires. Would love to see him win one and then retire going out on top. A storybook ending.
