Arkansas 38 - #24 Auburn 17
quote:

It seemed like everyone trying to tackle Fred Talley was running in slow motion.

Talley ran for 241 yards, including an 80-yard score, as Arkansas gained 426 yards on the ground to earn a 38-17 victory Saturday over Auburn (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP)

"Sometimes, I was feeling like they blew the play dead or something,'' said Talley, who started because of Cedric Cobbs' injured toe. "I could hesitate and make moves without anybody in my way.''

His 241 yards were the most ever given up by Auburn. The previous high was 233, by Alabama's Bobby Marlow in 1951.

nah. I'd say the 60's through the 70's were when we last peaked. bert has us on the upswing, only time will tell if he's able to get us a natty like frank broyles did in '64.

as for comparing that 2002 team to this years team, well bert is a better coach than nutt and jonathan williams reminds me of talley. auburn may be fricked tomorrow

Didn't Bert set a new Arkansas record last year?

Just trying to stay in the last decade.

?

I'm looking forward to tomorrow and where bert is building this program. that game in 2002 is just fun to reminisce on how that style of play has worked for us before and will work for us again with bert

I was there... one of the freaking hottest games i can ever remember.... Old man in front of me had to be carried out on a stretcher by paramedics.

Tubby laid some eggs with those 11:30am kick offs.

Hopefully for Arkansas' sake Bert has actually been preparing his team for Auburn and not just shooting his mouth off during the fall camp setting up a huge failure like Spurrier did with South Carolina.

yup he helped Alex Collins become the first freshman in SEC history to start his career with three straight 100-yard rushing games

what's the temp tomorrow look like? I recall it being talked about how it was supposed to be really hot but that was a few days ago. betting that rain moving through cools things off and not just the temperature ;)
