I really thought Mason was a solid hire and Vandy would be okay.

Well, coming off their best run in history with an offensive minded coach, they go out and hire a defensive coach that comes in and changes a 4-3 to a 3-4, has no head coaching experience, and is obviously making personnel changes on the offensive side as well.

One game is not going to write the book, but the last chapter might already be written.

I'll take that bet with you. I think they don't go bowling.

Lucky to win 4? Man...they're lucky to win one. I actually watched the whole game last night.

People don't understand it takes a bit of time to change the tenor of a team to fit the new coach. Also, if he is in fact implementing a new system, that takes a while for the players to buy into the program.

We went 2-10 last year. We were very young and many of our players were not physically mature enough to play against 21 or 22 year old guys. Things change.

But we also lost to some really bad teams early on in the season because a coach has to implement his new system. Did you realize that we lost to Fordham last year? Hell, we lost to Idaho even early last year.

Much of this was done when some of the older players wouldn't buy into the new system and he had to play players that would.

I honestly can't tell you how Vandy is going to do this year. It doesn't have to be a long trek like Temple had to make last year. You guys have a ton more talent on the team than Temple did. You have a more mature team.

Plus hell honestly I don't know exactly how good Temple is yet. To be honest, I don't think they quite know yet either.

Coaching changes sometimes take some time. Granted for us we were coming off a four win year and not a nine win year, but still, you are going to have to wait a couple of years.

I am not sure how big the offensive change was, but going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 takes a bit of time.

Dude, it was one fricking game against a decent Temple squad.

Wow, talk about trying hard to rationalize this loss. Auburn almost lost to a decent Utah State in 2011. Was it because they were decent? Hell no, it's because we weren't any good.

That was the worst Vandy team I've ever seen in my life last night.

You must be like 11 years old, last night is what Vandy football is all about. Hope they go 0-12 and all their fans are rendered impotent from depression, all 5 of them.

Geez... I say 1-11. You're forgetting that Tennessee is on their schedule.
