Do you think if we only win 6-7 games this year with a win against Ole Miss than the older, naive fans will finally realize that a coaches job security shouldn't rest on the shoulders of 1 game and become irritated that we underperformed throughout the whole season?

In no way, am I saying that I want 6-7 wins for this to potentially happen, but do you think it would be an actual occurrence if this hypothetical situation were to come true?

If we win only 6 and the Egg Bowl in Oxford Dan and Hugh should both find new jobs.

Agreed, but that doesn't answer my question.

I get tired of Dan spouting his bull shite about the Egg Bowl. I saw on the SEC Network the other day he was talking about how the Egg Bowl means more than any championship that we could play in. No way he believes that shite. I am tired of his TSUN bull shite too. He needs to realize that there are other games on the schedule. Lately, Ole Miss hasn't been that great, so forgive me if I'm not impressed, Dan. Win some fricking games that matter and I'll get off of your back.

If Dan doesn't beat Auburn or Bama or LSU this season, I have no hope for the future. Sounds silly but it's the truth. We have to be in every game and have a good season or son i am disappoint.

I think we will upset someone and have a slip up game.

I think we will be happy though. I just want to see us cut it loose some and not play possession the entire season.

As far as the old farts go, who gives a frick. No way in hell 7 is acceptable. But who knows what they think. I expect a good year and a successful year and that is with a loss to ole miss if it happens. Either way i expect to be happy with the season, win or lose.

If we don't win against Bama/LSU/AU this year, we should fire Mullen and give 15 football scholarships to baseball. Offer full rides to the entire roster, and win a fricking championship in a sport where we actually have a chance.

Wow. We could go 10-3, lose to Bama/AU/LSU, and you would want Mullen fired? Even if 2 of those 3 make the 4-team playoff?

Tough crowd.

Yeah I hate losing to you guys but the Egg Bowl isn't an entire season. Dan needs to put the effort and focus he does in the Egg Bowl into every game.

The event of us losing only those 3 is pretty unlikely. I feel like we lose two this year or we lose 4+. Obviously we wouldn't fire him after a 10 win season, I was a little over the top.

Nah.

The Egg Bowl is the one game his fanbase won't ever forgive him for losing. He knows this and prepares / talks shite accordingly.

Some Ole Miss fans act like they're above caring very much about the Egg Bowl but they're full of shite. I hate when we lose the Egg Bowl more than when we lose to anyone else and anyone that says otherwise is either lying or didn't grow up in MS.

If given the choice though, would you take a win over a top ten LSU team or an unranked State team with only 5 wins? I hate losing the Egg Bowl but if that means beating a top ten opponent I'll take it. And I don't think there are many State fans who would turn that down either.

We gain more in recruiting by defeating a 5 win State team but I understand your perspective.

I'm talking about all this "it's just another game" BS that I've seen a few posters say. Idiots. They're FOS.

I almost posted that I would trade 2015 and 2016 egg bowl losses to break the LSU streak this year. Then realized that I would never concede a present year Egg Bowl loss, making my claim fundamentally invalid.

It's the worst game to lose, plain and simple. It's nice to win it, but holy shite is it terrible to lose.

Edit: I wonder if it's this way with all rivalries? I can honestly say that I hate losing the egg bowl more than I enjoy winning it. Maybe it's because both teams are generally just mediocre so winning it doesn't mean as much?
