quote:

109,631,000 Americans lived in households that received benefits from one or more federally funded "means-tested programs" — also known as welfare — as of the fourth quarter of 2012, according to data released Tuesday by the Census Bureau.

quote:

But the 109,631,000 living in households taking federal welfare benefits as of the end of 2012, according to the Census Bureau, equaled 35.4 percent of all 309,467,000 people living in the United States at that time.

When those receiving benefits from non-means-tested federal programs — such as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment and veterans benefits — were added to those taking welfare benefits, it turned out that 153,323,000 people were getting federal benefits of some type at the end of 2012.

quote:

The 153,323,000 total benefit-takers at the end of 2012, said the Census Bureau, equaled 49.5 percent of the population. The 150,026,000 taking benefits other than veterans' benefits equaled about 48.5 percent of the population.

How do you put in perspective the 109,631,000 people taking welfare, or the 150,026,000 getting some type of federal benefit other than veterans' benefits?

Well, the CIA World Factbook says there are 142,470,272 people in Russia. So, the 150,026,000 people getting non-veterans federal benefits in the United States at the end of 2012 outnumbered all the people in Russia.

Income inequality in the US has grown significantly since the early 1970's. US has very high rates of income inequality than all developed nations due to the nation's enhanced support of free market capitalism. US is a first-world country, but income inequalities in some US cities rival some of African countries.

Rich gets richer, poor gets poorer.

Well that can't be right. Black people only make up roughly 13% of the population.

The middle class is becoming the proletariat. Debt slaves and goverment dependent slaves make the slave class the globalist elite will control. They will stop at nothing to get it.

Why did they remove veteran benfits but not Social Security or Medicare? Those are not like unemployment benefits.

Those ppl that are on SS and Medicare are not leaches on our society.

It's not just retired people that put into SS and Medicare that get those benefits, you know?

You need to look at both sides of the coin, son.

Then you'll find truth.

I'm likely old enough to be calling you son. But I doubt I'd ever have been with someone that could have produced someone like you, so I'll refrain from using that term.

You need to expand your horizons, son. You've pigeon holed yourself and it's destructive to your intellectual development.

Love, dad.

I reckon the attempt at discussion is done then. Until the next thread, in which you get exposed by anyone who offers a counterpoint to you....

No, you dipshit. Fixed market corporatism causes high income inequality.

Income inequality exists no matter what, free market capitalism is the ONLY economic system that is even remotely close to a level playing field.

I expect you to keep the leftist TN fans in line. I do what I can with the Barners. How we have any big govt Auburn fans when the Ludwig von Mises institute is on campus is beyond me.....
