Bare with me on the Depth Chart. Ill try and be as accurate as possible with what info we have been given and what seems to be projected.

Depth Chart:

Offense:

QB1: Jake Coker (favorite to win the job) and Blake Sims (until one wins the job in practice or after cupcake games)
QB2: Cooper Bateman
QB3: David Cornwell

RB1: TJ Yeldon
RB2: Derrick Henry
RB3: Kenyan Drake
RB4: Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones

(If Receivers are in 4 wides, no TE or no RB)

WR-X1: Amari Cooper- X2- Derek Kief
WR-Z1: Robert Foster- Z2- Cameron Sims
WR-Y1: Chris Jones or Chris Black
WR-W1: DeAndrew White- W2- ArDarius Stewart

TE1: OJ Howard or Brian Vogler
TE2: Ty Flournoy-Smith

HB1: Jalston Fowler
HB2: Corey McCarron

LT1: Cameron Robinson- LT2- Ross Pierschbacher
LG1: Arie Kounadjio- LG2- Dominick Jackson
C1: Ryan Kelly- C2- JC Hassenauer
RG1: Leon Brown- RG2- Alphonse Taylor
RT1: Austin Shepard- RT2- Grant Hill

I think everyone expects a battle until game 1 for OL. Jackson, Brown, and Taylor are all up for the RG spot. Could see Brown and Jackson at both Guard Spots on the field at once. Grant Hill will push.

Defense:

WDE1: Jon Allen- WDE2- DJ Pettway- WDE3- Da'Shawn Hand
NT1: A'Shawn Robinson- NT2- Brandon Ivory- NT3- Josh Frazier
SDE1: Dalvin Tomlinson- SDE2- Jarran Reed- SDE3- Dee Liner

WILL1: Reggie Ragland and Reuben Foster- Will2- Shaun Dion-Hamitlon
MIKE1: Trey Depriest- MIKE2- Reggie Ragland and Reuben Foster
SAM1: Dillon Lee- SAM2- Rashaan Evans- SAM3- Christian Miller

I know Evans will be a Jack but we are too stacked at Jack for right now and are think at Sam, so I plugged him there.

SS1: Landon Collins- SS2- Hootie Jones- SS3: Ronnie Clark
FS1: Geno Smith- FS2-Jarrick Williams- FS3- Nick Perry
STAR1: Jarrick Williams- STAR2- Maurice Smith
CB1: Eddie Jackson/Marlon Humphrey- CB2- Cyrus Jones
CB1: Tony Brown/Marlon Humphrey- CB2- Bradley Sylve

KR1: Chris Jones- KR2- ArDarius Stewart
PR1: Chris Jones- PR2- ArDarius Stewart
LS: Cole Mazza
K1: Adam Griffith- K2- JK Scott
P: JK Scott

Situational:

Pass Rush DL: Allen, Robinson, Hand, Pettway (as OLB), Evans on the edge able to drop or rush.

Mack LB: Lee or Depriest

6 DBs: Jackson, Brown, Humphrey, Collins, Smith, Williams

Goal line DL: Robinson, Ivory, Lake, Frazier, Liner

Remember, these are projected once all competitions cease and SEC play opens

All he has to do is put up Greg McElroy type numbers and Bama wins it all.

on day one you are not righr on the CB's. Jones and Sylve have been impressive per coach. Not sure Leon will start day 1 either since he has missed most if not all of fall camp. This may be more in in line for how things look later in the season if all stay healthy. I just dont see the two freshmen at CB beating out the two veterans early in the season. But I do agree the freshmen have more upside

I agree with this. The freshmen will get some playing time, but the guys with experience will be the "starters". Jones, Eddie, and Sylve.

So how would everyone rank the depth of this team compared to the last few seasons? Are we deep enough at all 3 levels on defense to make it through 3-5 injuries (hypothetically speaking)?

I would say so especially toward the end of the year when the younger guys have more experience. The only person who I think would be really tough to replace would be Landon Collins (knock on wood). There is a pretty big drop off after him, and while I'm sure the young guys are good enough to play eventually, it would likely be quite a bit of trial by fire.

I thought Jalston Fowler was a fullback. Doesn't Kiffing run a fullback in his scheme?

I think the two positions are inter-changeable and they just use the term halfback.

I do not see Allen in front of Pettway on the DL from recent reports. Sylve and Jones will start at CB and I think N Perry will get he node over Geno.

The OL will probably shape out that way but Brown has to work himself back in it.

I think you are right. John Copeland said that Pettway is our best DLineman.

Pettway and Allen both have the potential/talent to have break-out years the way Robinson did last year IMO. I'm hoping we can rotate both with little or no drop-off
