There are three gigantic positions of need for us: OL, QB, DT in that order.

We have done well addressing those needs so far. DT: Kahlil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle (yeah we're going to get him), Quay Picou
QB: Dormady, and Jennings
OL: Jack Jones,Zach Stewart, Chance Hall

Richmond is the linchpin for the future O line. Butch will be going all in and putting the same effort he did in closing Malone. He is the single biggest (pun not intended) target on our big board.

All these letters and none of them will matter when Richmond spends three seasons fifty miles south before becoming a first round draft pick.

frick all that.

All he has to do is call any of last years starting 5 OL and ask them how that NFL money feels. I'm sure J. James can tell him all about that first round draft pick cash flow

Great post.

And yeah, Butch has made Richmond a priority since his first day on the job here. IIRC, CBJ went to visit Richmond the day after he was hired when DR was still just a sophomore. I've felt confident for a while but OM always scares me with West TN recruits.

But Kid is a beast would be great at UT but that o-line would be scary at ole miss especially if tunsil stays for his senior year

Unless Tunsil gets injured, he won't be a Senior at Ole Miss. Never said this about any Ole Miss player, but Tunsil will be the #1 pick unless the #1 pick is in need of a QB(Hackenburg).

That would be nasty though:

LT - Tunsil 5* Senior
LG - Taylor 5* Junior
C - Eli Johnson 4* C Freshman
RG - Patterson 4* Sophomore
RT - Richmond 5* Sophomore

That's a pretty nasty line. Eli probably would not be starting. Probably move someone over.

My money in the end he signs with Ole Miss. Could be either on the 9th but in the end Rebs win out for him.

Dylan Jackson will probably turn into an elite tackle. Bama, LSU, and Stanford are after him hard at tackle

^This, But i don't think the Vols get to a bowl game this year. They are a few years out from making some real noise in the East, but next year will be a struggle for them unless BOTH of their lines are much better than expected

Tell me about both lines. Outside of the fact that all 5 of last years starting OL are playing in the NFL and the starting 4 DL were seniors who graduated.

Damn. That's a lot of replacing on the lines.

All I know is that this recruit has a great 1st name...

If that's the case they aren't getting him. Rocky Top will get their 4-5 year win total again this year.

Hate them for sucking, but at least they're consistent.

It moved solely for the purpose of making my point to the Vol.

Thank you for making my point for me, I couldn't care less how many of last years lineman are playing in the NFL. Zero of them are playing for Tennessee... sounds like you lost 9 starting Lineman. So unless you had the best backups in the country, your line will need to outperform expectations to be successful this year. I don't care how talented your skill players are, games are won or lost in the trenches
