It's kind of getting ridiculous. The talent in this conference is absurd and getting stronger each year

Clemson has 22 commits, USCe 28. Bama, UGA, and A&M each have 20. I can only imagine Bama and A&M still have tons of room to move up, too. I know we do

We have two five stars, Malik Jefferson and Kendall Sheffield, that people consider pretty heavy leans. Sumlin always seems to get us in the mix for random solid four star recruits after the regular season too so there's that. We also have the top player in 2016, Greg Little, committed. And yet that's not outstanding or anything compared to what other SEC schools are doing

The only way we move above Alabama is to get every single target, and one surprise 5 star.

We have 15 commits at the moment (which is tied for fewest in the top - 12). I think we'll end up with a top 7-9 class when it's all said and done. We still have some dominoes to fall at WR (we get Tyron Johnson and maybe Carlos Strickland). The staff is usually good for making a run at a couple elite targets later in the cycle as well.

4* DB Donte Jackson

One of my favorite recruits for the '15 class. He could be a special punt returner IMO.

The SEC recruiting dominance is impressive ,but since when do August recruiting rankings matter.

UF is #24 with only 11 recruits committed. That is sort of impressive in its own little way. Gotta find some optimism somewhere.

UF gonna get a lot of top ranked recruits that is still on the board as will LSU. The SEC is looking to end up having 7 maybe 8 teams in the top 10.

Well for the teams with a larger commitment list at this point it gives a very good indication on how strong their class will be come signing day.

Since when do recruiting rankings not matter?

Serious question.

SCAR is not going to finish in the Top 5, but we will finish in the Top 10.

The reason they have started to matter more in August than in past years is because kids are climbing on board earlier so they can concentrate on their senior seasons.

But you're right ... in the strictest sense of the word they do not matter, not ever, as long as you are filling needs with quality talent that fits your system and wants to be there.

Unfortunately Huggins has bought into Dabos BS. I really thought he'd end up at UF.

Once you get to 20 commits, the numbers don't matter. I think that Rivals and 247 both just count your Top20 towards the rankings.

Maybe on Rivals but on 247 you can go to the class calculator for SCe & take off #21 thru #28 & your score drops to 252.56 with your top 20 commits vs. 257.17 with 28 commits & would drop you below UGA(with 20) & just ahead of PSU(with 19)...
