Often times when somebody has no argument whatsoever, they invent some sort unreasonable standard that's impossible to meet as "proof" of something.

For example, anti-SEC folks around the country who try to formulate arguments as to why the SEC isn't dominant. They point to the occasional OOC game the SEC loses on the big stage as "proof" that SEC dominance is a myth.

SEC teams can win 100 games big time OOC games in a row by 100 points and then lose a single game, and that single game is their "proof"

No matter what happens, people who are against someone or something will always invent some sort of bullshite standard that's impossible to meet as "proof" of their claim.

So there will simply never be a day where everyone gives credit where credit is due. If 7 national championships in a row isn't good enough, nothing ever will be, so don't bother arguing with people who pull this crap.

The best thing to do is laugh at the haters, deep down they know the truth and they're just trying to make themselves feel better.

I could replace a few words here and there and it's the same argument I make about the liberals and about women and about the Dutch ...

But if I did it I would be called a racist and a bigot.

That's not really fair.

To hell with those damn Dutch, with their Ricolla and wooden shoes.

Don't trust anyone who thinks those things are comfortable.

I can imagine. OU gets their arse kicked in about 8 big games in a row and all the sudden wins one and that proves how legit they are.

FSU wins the national title and all the sudden that proves the ACC doesn't suck.

People try to make the standard perfection because they know it's impossible to live up.

I like the "ESPN hypes SEC and that's why they won 7 in a row". Always gives me a chuckle.

this statement is incredibly true. it's the way most humans are. people aren't after the truth, they are after vindication of their opinions and beliefs.

Replace SEC in there with nearly anything, and it would be accurate. I've been listening to it since 2007.
