If we're being perfectly honest, I think bowl eligibility might be a bit of a stretch for this young team. Most every one on the board is aware of our much maligned line of scrimmage deficiencies, however, if we do manage 6 or 7 wins, it's going to be on the back of one very large true freshman, Jalen Hurd.

By all accounts, he's the most gifted player we've had in the backfield in quite some time. A truly elite talent, athletically speaking. I'm not expecting big things for the big orange, but I'm very excited to watch our LB sized future-star RB.

The problem is, a poor OL can make an elite back look ok. We had those problems a few years ago.

But, I hope UT gets it together and has a good season. The east is kind of boring to me.

You are looking at 5 automatic losses with a veteran team. Unfortunately, y'all are extremely young so it can be assumed you will lose more.

X Factor is a true FR RB?!?! It's happened before, look at Lattimore, but he's more of the exception than the norm.

X factor is the OL

They should be good run blocking, but pass protection is a huge concern.

We will be perfectly fine at RB. Hurd is a stud and Lane is underrated.

Dude is going to be a beast. Everyone is talking about fournette but I'm just as excited to see what hurd can do. His highlights were just nasty.

Interior OL will be a strength. Tackles are highly questionable. OL will not be as bad as people are projecting.

Both lines have talent, they just lack experience. We'll be playing highly recruited 4 stars across both fronts.

Unknown does not necessarily mean bad. Question mark, absolutely.

Hurd is gonna be a terror.

Is he running with the first team or is Marlon Lane or Raijon Neal still in Knoxville?

We haven't really struggled with "bigger" backs in the Freeze era; still, however, I'm hoping he isn't hitting his mid-season stride when y'all travel to Oxford in late October.

He and Lane look to be splitting the 1's pretty evenly.

Should be a pretty even split of carries this season.

No. Has to go back to high school this fall. Can enroll in spring, I believe.

Don't you have a walk on starting at tackle in Jacob Gilliam? Or did the Juco or the true freshman claim the #1 spot? I know UT fans LOVE to hate on that OL from last year, but the problem wasn't the line. It was the QBs and WRs. The line kept you from losing every game UT played last year.

They only gave up 23 sacks in TWO YEARS, and averaged 5 YPC in 2013 (with no passing game to help out) against a tough schedule.

Tennessee is going to have a drop off at that position. NO QUESTION.

The OL is not stacked with highly recruited 4*s along the front...

Jacob Gilliam - former walkon
Mack Crowder 3*
Kyler Kerbyson 3*
Brent Kendrick 3*
Dylan Wiseman 3*
Alan Posey 3* (is he still on the team?)
Coleman Thomas 3* (you really want to start a true freshman in the SEC at tackle with UTs QB situation. No other true Fr are worth mentioning here)
Austin Sanders 4* (but reportedly one of the last guys on the depth chart)
Dontavious Blair 4* (but can't beat out a walk on)

The 2012 class is where Dooley killed TN so much attrition and so much bad recruiting at the LOS.
