I graduated from LSU and went to Grad School at South Carolina (OK independent then).

Question is how much was the sports culture similar or different?

LSU expected to win at all times. USC had no bowls when I went there.

My best friend attended 2..in undergrad. Also attended a SOCON school...in undergrad. Also attended an Ivy League school...in undergrad.

Safe to say he's bounced around. He does well for himself though. Oh also, he still doesn't have a degree.

LSU - undergraduate

Vanderbilt - anesthesiology residency

Sports cultures polar opposites, and I was there during the James Franklin years. Also, I was a season ticket holder all 4 years for football. $100 a ticket 45 yard line 20 rows up, per year. The student body seemed disinterested. Some alumni cared. Not a peep from Vanderbilt people on facebook, etc after good wins or bad losses.

Better question would be how many Alabama fans on this board actually attended school of any kind past the 8th grade.

I went to three.

B.S., Mississippi State
M.S., Alabama via Livingston University (started at LU, finished last nine hours at UA after LU dropped program)
Ed.D. Louisiana State

Of all four schools, I get the most phone calls, donation requests from what is now West Alabama. I told the girl one time that I didn't graduate from there because they dropped my program when I was 75% complete, why would I want to give? She said she understood and called me back the next day to see if I had a change of heart.

My wife got her undergrad at LSU and we then moved up to Knoxville for her to go to grad school at UT. We were there from 2008 until last year. There was lots of excitement when Kiffen was there, but after Dooley's first season it seemed all the fire went out.

Me.

Mizzou, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee.

I've also traveled up and down the ACC and the MAC, and dipped my toe in the Big 10. Alas, marriage kept me from getting to the Ivy League, one trip to third base notwithstanding.

Got recruited by all 9 who had my sport. F you Mississippi schools + vandy... sports culture seemed psuedo consistent with those 3 losers out of the mix. I don't need credit hours at another school to tell me this... but I have been debating doing some recreational IFAS related (institute of food and agricultural science) courses at UF since it's so close to me.
