Let's strive to be the board with the most stickied threads. We have a sizeable lead already, but we need to maintain our momentum.

I move to Sticky this thread to the top as a reminder for people to request sticky threads.

Seconded

Can you imagine how awesome our sticky board is going to be? I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Funny part is, I don' even mind the 7 Stickies we have. The uga arrest one will fall off in a couple weeks once the season starts.

I think we might be able to go without the SC Diplomacy thread sticky, we can just bookmark it and revive it when we need diplomacy.

I like all 4 Recruiting stickies. I would keep them.

The YouTube Wins was convenient for this offseason.

I like our stickies... they have relevance... I agree with CIYE that a few are about to drop off. Then maybe this one can replace it? Thanks for looking ahead and your help in keeping our board ahead of all others in most categories.

We have the most stickied threads of any board on SECr/TD.

It's an asinine practice. If the thread is updated, then bump it. Our board doesn't move fast enough to lose threads. You can't even visit the board and see a new thread until you scroll down.

I mean, how often do you really need to reference the off season Georgia arrest thread? The 2016 sticky is laughable. Maybe I should go ahead and start the 2017 recruiting thread. We need to have that at the top as well for all of the rising sophomore recruits.

What does this even mean? Pretty much every thread on this board should be relevant.

that a few are about to drop off.

A few that shouldn't have even been stickied in the first place.

Our board doesn't move fast enough for it to really matter, either though. It's not like any of today's innumerable threads are being bumped off the page by limited space. It isn't like the stickies aren't valid either. Most of those threads are the most popular on our board. Having them at the top is convenient, IMO.

Then why sticky the threads? It looks retarded to have more than a third of the board's front page be stickied threads.

You mean the current recruiting thread? If the thread is active, then it will be bumped to the top when it is posted in.

The only threads that should be stickied are the current 2015 football, baseball, and basketball recruiting threads.

Everything else should be taken down.

"Looks retarded" to who? Why are you so caught up in how pretty our board looks? Who gives a shite if you have to click over one whole page to check that topic that was brought last week?

Every single one of the stickies has a post in it from the last three days. The last post on page two is from the middle of last week. I don't think it's causing that much of an issue.

Stickies are for handy threads that you want to come back to often, IMO. Every one of those stickies meets that criteria. And when they run their course (the UGA thread when the season starts for instance) they are gone. It's not that big of a deal.

Just remember this entire thread is because you don't want to scroll your mouse wheel 1/4 of an inch to see the at most 3 or 4 new thread started while you were away. Perhaps the window is made to small while you are at work? or maybe that lil 7 inch screen on your iPad needs updating?

To me, obviously.

I started this thread in satire. Not hard to figure out my motive here.

How often do you visit the youtube thread?

Whatever your motive it's beyond me. Are you trying to sell someone on visiting the board more often? Are you worried about UGA posters throwing out the fact that we have a sticky pertaining to them? Are you worried about being able to catch that thread from Monday that you saw in passing but didn't post in and can't be bothered with clicking over to the next page?

Was it such a bother to you that you really had to start a thread bemoaning the overabundance of stickies? Seriously?!?

Not as often as most, granted. But in the coming weeks, as we near the new season, looking back on last year becomes more and more pertinent. Having them all in one post on the first page is a lot more handy than having to search for it (bookmarking threads is not usually in my practice unless someone says something stupid I can use against them in the future... I just don't think about it at the time. Maybe I should).

To criticize the practice of stickying so many threads at a time. It looks like a Kindergarten bulletin board with all the shite pinned up there.

Is this not obvious?

Aha! Yet that thread has been stickied since May.

That thread is very nice, I agree, but should be bookmarked and left to float away until it is bumped with a new link to a game.

Check. Your move, Loathor.
