Why Do Many Posters Bitch About Long Posts on the SEC Rant?

There are people with 30000+ posts here. How do you have time to make several hundred, if not thousands, of posts per month yet don't have the time to read posts that take 5 minutes at most to skim? Furthermore, articles get posted on TigerDroppings' boards all the time. Don't tell me that you all don't read internet articles, newspaper articles, Wikipedia, etc. Those articles are typically longer than most of the posts that are made on the rant. Calling out a post for being too long is unnecessary and one of the ultimate forms of disrespect that can be shown on this board. Yes, I know this is anonymous forum that isn't as heavily regulated and censored like other places, but that's no excuse to treat human beings any differently than you would in real life. I'm not an a-hole in real life, and I'm not going to act like one on the internet. Stop for a moment and ask if your behavior on these forums is a true representation of yourself in real life. Would you be proud to reveal your actions here to your friends and family? Could you look at yourself in the mirror if your account here was an actual reflection of yourself? Some posters actually enjoy engaging in well thought out or intellectually stimulating conversations regarding football. Sorry if trolling, flaming, and deriding are more your type. The Rant can be home to both the good and the bad, you know. Have balance. Think about it.

Just like any form of writing, there's a certain way to communicate properly. Of course there's assholes going around posting tl;dr because they think they're funny, but there's also times when people are verbose or don't separate things out into paragraphs. They're going to get called out too because their communication isn't clear, and rightly so.

The way the posts are formatted makes them cumbersome to read. Especially when people don't break up the posts into paragraphs. Also, long post are mostly long winded rants that could be summarized into a few concise sentences. Lastly, this a message board and not an amateur sports journalism forum.

The whole pensive Bama fan thing is pretty creative and most people won't know how to respond because they're not used to Bama fans who write in complete sentences.
