I'm cooking steaks with my gf tonight and I'm curious how the OT board prefers their steaks?

My personal preference is a medium well steak with ketchup on the side.

I'll pretend I didn't read about the ketchup.

Medium rare. Salt and peppered. Cooked on a screaming hot cast iron pan and finished in the oven with a piece piece of butter on top.

Ketchup on a steak??? WTF

A good steak shouldn't need any sauce.

Sure it doesn't need sauce...

But reduce some red wine with the drippings and butter is pretty delicious.

Medium. Marinated in something called Hoover Sauce, Kosher Salt, and Lemon Pepper for about 30 minutes.

Who the frick puts ketchup on a steak? Is it like Western Sizzlin' quality or something.

I usually order medium rare. I actually prefer medium but find that they often end up medium well so I go one under.

Rare bone in ribeye.

I also like a rare t-bone with blue cheese cream sauce on it.

Good cuts of steak need little more than salt and fresh cracked pepper.

Anyone who eats steak more than medium or with ketchup is an idiot. It's not steak at that point.
