I haven't been here long, but I doubt this is an overused offseason topic, so you can start giving me credit already.

Obviously most SEC people are from Europe and Africa. More specifically, lots of Scotch Irish among the white folks, and I have no idea which African countries (this thread will help us drill down on that).

But I think we should start with Texas A&M and Mizzou fans.

Mizzou fans are originally from Germany, or as my father always said "those damn Germans in Missouri." Dad's a longtime Cardinals fan, per old KMOX radio like the rest of mid America, but that doesn't mean he likes Germans. Let's just say it like it is: My dad don't like damn Germans. I do know, for a fact, that some of them use Stove Top stuffing on Thanksgiving. So on that fact alone, my dad is correct.

A&M fans arrived in Texas on a boat that wheeled it's way down the coast and around the Gulf from Iceland or Nova Scotia. This was before Ponce de Leon.

(before or after Cajuns? I don't know)

Real Texans hated Aggies from the start, and I've heard they still do. I did sit among Aggies last year, and I'll say they were great people for the most part. But..., Nova Scotians are basically just English, which means Aggies are loyal to the crown of England, and should not be welcome in America. Nice as they are, they need to go.

Let's go ahead and do Vandy real quick. They're from everywhere, alot of Ohio I think, so I don't know what to say here. I'll leave the Vandy mess alone, except to say I've seen alot of strippers in Nashville and they seemed to be Scotch Irish.

Who wants to take Kentucky and South Carolina next? dirty aubie?

I would assume anglo-saxon for around 75% of the SEC East

ETA: nvm I forgot we had Mizzou and their German heritage throws my numbers out the window

East TN was predominately settled by the Scotch-Irish.

East TN is very Scotch-Irish for the most part.

Decent amount of Germans behind that

And unfortunately intermingled and bred with West Virginians I believe. Basically apes. That explains alot.

No offense Jed, and thanks for the input.

I suspect Argonian miscegenation amongst the Arkansas faithful.

Arkansas is very similar, with the highest percentage of Germans being in the North and NW areas. Lots of bleed over of Native American blood in western Arkansas, too, just because there are so many in Oklahoma. Lots of African Americans east and SE of Little Rock.

This is a map identifying where 2013 Vanderbilt undergraduates came from.

More from New York and New Jersey (combined) than from Tennessee.

Same for SC ... but add some Dutch in there as well. Especially in the midlands along with the Germans ... that's why we are a Lutheran state. Scotch-Irish upstate, Germans and Anglo-Saxons along the coast.

speckledtrout, just by your screen name alone, I would expect you to be more open minded than that.

Do you see Vol fans getting upset about being blood relation to West Virgina primates? You do not. So there's a lesson in that for you.

That's offensive and grounds for a duel in another century. I'm from Mississippi.

I would guess that cornmeal, oil, and pork byproducts would be the ancestral origins of the LSU folks.

East Tennesseans (Appalachia) are Scot-Irish decents. Everybody else in the SEC are Anglo-Saxons or Germans I guess.
