Anybody heard anything? I am starting to think the switch is imminent.

They seem to be one of the last holdouts. Have not heard a peep out of them about even the possibility of having it. If they don't have it by mid August I will be switching to Uverse. Charter will be crushed in the South without the SEC Network.

They said they aren't going to carry it, ever.

Here is the coverage map. It seems like suicide for Charter.
WIth that map, I could see them losing 10%+ of their business easily, and if someone told me they ended up losing 20% b/c of the decision to not carry the SECN, I wouldn't find it hard to believe.

Yep. Looks like Charter has huge numbers in Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, Louisiana, and Georgia. If their corporate people in NY think SEC fans are like Big Ten or Pac 12 fans, they are going to be very mistaken. The only reason I even subscribe to cable is for live sports. If I can't even have to option to pay more for the games I want, I will take my business elsewhere.

I have Uverse for the TV, but the internet is terrible. If I can get Charter with the SECN, I'll switch. If not, I'll have to stick with Uverse.
Charter had a rep calling me the other day and I told him I'd sign a contract if they had the SECN. Guy was a BIG16 fan, but completely understood.

They would be lucky to only lose 10%-20%, IMO.

Charter is will be the last one to sign up, those bastards took forever to get CST on the northshore

We'll, at least I can watch the Big 10 network here in GA. Come on Charter.

Time Warner and Brighthouse just signed up! Which is why I am very confident Charter will sign on soon. You simply won't be able to stay in business in the South without it. They are not going to let a $1.30 per customer increase completely shut down the several hundred million dollars they have invested in infrastructure in the South. If Dish would have held out longer, the rest could have held their ground, but once Dish became an alternative for every cable customer in America, they all are piling on the wagon.

I just wonder what shitty package Charter will put SEC Network on. SEC is demanding they put the Network at same tier as ESPNU, but you have to upgrade to the highest tier to get ESPNU. I'm still going to Uverse if Charter makes me upgrade to some insane package with 20 channels I don't want in order to get one channel I do want.

In SEC footprint states, no less that 50% loss for not carrying the SECN.
I don't know how that would compare when averaged across their national sub base, but that would have to hurt like hell. I really don't think they have any choice, but who knows if they realize it or not.

I agree...........and you also have to consider.....most households have more than one cable box per. If you don't carry it, you will be losing some serious coin.

You better go ahead and setup that installation appointment now. You can cancel it if Charter gets it.

Shouldn't take more than a few days should it?

Mediacom is a holdout too, and I will drop them if they don't sign up.

There is zero chance they won't sign on. Zero.

@bmarcello: Charter and SEC Network are "still in talks." Charter spokesperson tells me to "keep checking back."

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I'm pumped up. I've been hitting getsecnetwork.com 2 or 3 times a month to pester Vicksburg Video about this, and had not heard a thing from them. It's getting to be put up or shut up time, so I called them and they are indeed planning on carrying it, though they're still apparently negotiating. It may not be in place for the first game but will get done, and I'll be in SC anyway. Whoop!, as they say.
