Yeah, OP is also incorrect about Texas A&M. We start practice Aug 1 too--which makes sense, since our teams play each other earlier than the others.

Oh Rob, if only you understood how realistic most of us are as well as how we see the positive changes. Sure, we know, we've sucked and will probably be lucky to crack 6-6 this year but we also know we got us a real coach (despite the W-L record last year that was visible to all who paid attention and know our immediate past), a great recruiter, and despite the hard season ahead we have every reason for optimism. That's not sunshine, just truth about how a lot of us feel as well as our situation.
We never had this with Kiffin and we certainly didn't have it with it Dooley. Some had hope but faith like this and observation of results (changes in the way players play, how much they give, how much better even the ones who played under both Kiffin and Dooley are etc.) is a different animal altogether. Butch may not be the one - who knows but I have faith he'll lead us back and has already laid the foundation (something others never did). IOW, there's a reason we're smiling while knowing what lies ahead.
You're consistent in your troll - I'll give you that but it's honestly not very effective.

Agree with ya Tbird. Even though time always tends to pass faster/speed up as we age it's like we're all kids again on summer break with time lasting forever except with the offseason it just gets worse and worse instead of remaining the same.
