Very long read. I don't see a problem with A&M's traditions. Every school has them. It is what makes them unique. Sounds like the author is butt hurt with the Aggies football success.

I got bored with the read and didn't finish it, but this is how I felt about it too.
But aggies are just too easy to make fun of to write an entire article about it. It's like beating a 4 year old in basketball and bragging about it.

Aggies traditions are gayer than a parade
The whole thing with the school sucks. Town sucks, campus is ugly, girls are fat

I read it all & have confirmed it all. Literally the skid mark of Texas

What success are you referring to?

Success relative to Texas, of late. Left the Big 1 to swim with the big fish, and didn't drown (yet).
There are enough truly awful aTm traditions worthy of ridicule, that teasing them for being politically conservative seemed unnecessary, especially so early in the article. It also guaranteed that at least half the article's readers, including me, would be personally offended and would stop reading before getting to the good stuff (assuming it followed. I'll never know).
I can go to the NYT (or ESPN) if I want to be looked-down-upon by a lefty, and lumping me in with the aggie weirdos isn't exactly endearing. Freakin' Austinite.

Its a good article. I had the same opinion before they joined the SEC. Its just a goofy arse university.

The funny thing is, UT is a bastion of liberalism in an otherwise almost overwhelmingly conservative state. Not the other way around as the article would suggest.
Goofy traditions, yes, but credibility was lost with that statement.
