Just want to take a moment to say great job to the Georgia board. It probably sounded like a troll at first but they reacted quickly and responded to the possible threat taking it very serious. In the end it looks to have been a legit threat as a couple of posters had talked to the guy (after some great detective work getting his #) and he said he was trying to overdose. As of an hour ago, the update is that one poster had spoken with his mother and he is at the hospital getting help.

Just one more time great job guys!

I don't mean to be a wet blanket or anything -- but can you guys talk to the administrators about taking it down? It has his personal information, and I doubt he will want to remember this day.

You're not off base in suggesting that.

No doubt. A cry for help should always be taken seriously. You never know what is going on but suicide is very common and I am glad he is in the hands of medical professionals.

We may have a fricked up bunch over there, but at heart we are all human beings and do care about other people. I'm sure any other group would attempt to do the same

The GSB posters did a good job and provided the bright side to all this. The OTL posters on the other hand...

I remember talking to him for a very long time one night. I got so mad at the person who abused him that I volunteered to look him up and beat the shite out of him. And that father of his needs to be locked up forever.

Thanks to the Georgia board for being there for him. He's a great kid who can recover from his experiences and live a happy life. I've seen it happen.

For as much shite as Jeff dawg gets, from that thread he seems like a pretty damn stand up guy.

No kidding. My best friend killed himself 5 years ago and that thread just brought back a bunch of damn feels.

Props to you Georgia folks for acting quickly and efficiently. If not for his sake at least his family's.

After having been in the military, you see a lot of it in and out. Got a lot of friends who considered it, and it's very nice to see compassion from people -- especially in this atmosphere on the internet.

They really went out of their way, and I wish there was something other than words that I could offer our K9 brothers.

If the poster had posted on the OT he'd be dead right now.

Props to the UGA board. I read that thread last night and it was very moving. It was the single greatest thing I have seen on this website. Here is to the Dawgs.

Good work, Dawgs. Mental health is an area that doesn't get taken seriously enough in today's America. Glad y'all were able to stave off a tragedy.
