Alabama has had their fair share of embarrassing losses, but no program or team is invincible.

I exclude the 2007 season when judging Saban's work.
From 2008-2013, I'd call the 2010 Iron Bowl his biggest coaching disaster followed by the 2013 Iron Bowl. And no, it's not just because Alabama lost to their arch nemesis. It was how they lost. Embarrassing offensive performances in the 2nd halves of both games, but I must give some credit to Auburn. Their defense stood strong, and their offense did enough to put their team in a winnable position. Alabama's didn't.

Auburn lost to LSU when LSU was superior. Florida State was just as good as if not better than Auburn last season. Malzahn has not had a coaching disaster yet.

South Carolina wasn't on the map until 2010, but I'd nominate their 2011 Auburn loss for the biggest coaching disaster. That loss was completely inexcusable and was the reason they didn't win back-to-back divisional titles.

For Mark Richt, I'm guessing 35-7 has to rank pretty high on the list. Sure, South Carolina was firing on all cylinders that night, but Mark Richt's studded secondary and talented offense might've made the game interesting if they had received different calls or another gameplan.

I don't think I can make a truly informed opinion on which loss of the past 3 seasons is Will Muschamp's worst coaching job. There have been several embarrassing losses, but you have to factor in just how bad Florida's offenses have been and the injury bug.

Last but not least, there's LSU. I wouldn't be so quick to select the 2012 BCS National Championship. That was the biggest lost as far as perception of the program and history, but there were other losses in other seasons that can make LSU fans question "What could have been?" such as the 2012 Alabama game.

The head coach takes the fall for OC and DC screwups because the HC can override calls + he's the dude that hired them.

So, what are your thoughts? For schools that I did not mention, please nominate your current head football coach's biggest coaching disaster.

This is a serious thread.

For Mullen on a single play, not feeding Anthony Dixon 4 times on the goal line against LSU in 2009.

For Mullen during an entire game, definitely getting destroyed by TAMU in 2013.

For Bert, not choosing Jenny Craig

2013 Egg Bowl was pretty bad considering we tried the trick play BS with RN5 a few times. However, it's not necessarily Freeze's fault (or a "disaster") that the Mississippi State defensive line camped out in our backfield the entire evening. I figured those carries were Freeze giving RN5 the carries he promised him when he signed the chec....uhh...pitched Ole Miss to him.

The shotgun handoff on 4th and 1 against A&M in 2012

The piss poor clock management against A&M in 2013

21-0 has got to be the most embarrassing loss ever for any team in history.

Beat the shite out of the orange and rose bowl champion. Blew out the sugar bowl runner up. Beat the eventual national champ at their house.

Then not cross the 50 yard line until late 4th on the biggest stage and look like they belong in the independence bowl. tGOAT finally exposed what a rag tag bunch of felons that group really was on 1/9/12.

Freeze's hands were kinda forced, Bo didn't have time to threaten deep or even mid range and our DBs had Moncrief and Treadwell bottled up pretty nicely.

The RN5 runs were dumb, Chris Jones stuffing him near the red zone got everyone fired the frick up.

Reread my post. I gave credit where it was due.

Must be nice to line up across from an offensive lineman knowing he can't stop you

Well yeah. Coaching in 3 BCS bowls would be the pinnacle of most coaches careers.
