I watched The Conjuring the other night.

This is the only movie I've seen that literally kept me up all night.
I tried to go to sleep but kept have horrible nightmares and waking during sleep paralysis seeing shite.
I couldn't sleep until the sun came up.
Movies NEVER get to me like that. Damn that movie.

The movie Signs got to me when I was younger. No idea why. The part where the brother is talking about the bird that smashes up against the force field and falls straight down stuck with me.
That and the knife under the door to see the alien.

The Conjuring made me laugh more than anything. Didn't use to be that way but I guess my tolerance for creepy movies has grown over the years.
Last one that got to me was Sinister.

Speaking of which, the first Paranormal Activity got to me a bit.
The creepiest part of that movie for me is when they woke up and the flour (or whatever they put down) then had footsteps in it.
Most horror movies don't really get to me as a whole. It's more of one or two scenes in the movie. The rest I usually judge pretty critically. "This is what defines horror?"

I think it's because it has that Exorcist feel to it.
It gets a lot of shite because of it's billion sequels but the first Paranormal Activity rustled my jimmies pretty bad when I saw in the theater. Probably the worst I've been since The Exorcist.

See I just flat LOVE the Paranormal Activity movies. Watched them all completely alone for my first viewing and never had an issue.
I watched The Conjuring with one of my friends and still couldn't sleep. I don't know why it fricked me up so bad.

Only scary movies I cant watch are ones with little kids. Creepy arse high pitched voices.
And Child's Play. frick OG Chucky, I had a my Lil' Buddy doll when that movie came out.

I watched the first Paranormal Activity with a bunch of buddies at our house in college. Before we started watching it, one of my roommates had been telling all of us how he swore the house he grew up in was haunted. Doors randomly slamming, one case of something violently banging on doors, etc. Horror movies usually don't get to me, but watching PA creeped me the hell out. After the movie, they all went out, and I passed out on the couch for a bit. I heard the loudest, fastest footsteps running towards me from the kitchen area (about 10-12 steps away) and immediately darted up thinking a buddy was fricking with me.
There wasn't a soul in the room, or the house. Safe to say, I got the frick up and immediately went to the bar. frick being alone that night, and frick Paranormal Activity as well.

Because you know deep down in your heart they are coming one day.
I did like the whole play on the glasses of water everywhere though.
Heckuva movie.
Now, the only spooky movie that has ever really creeped me the frick out was the Exorcist. Went to see that one at the movie theater when it first came out with my first wife and I was jittering and fidgeting around more than her I think.
Poltergeist sort of gave me the heebie jeebies when it came out. That super natural stuff has always sort of played on a subconscious fear I think most of us have. The Omen sort of did that too.
Rosemary's Baby, when it came out, it freaked everyone in the country out.
The Ring and The Others were both pretty good too. Blair Witch Project, Sixth Sense, The Cell ... all good horror movies with a super natural twist.

Did anyone see that horror movie with the mirror a few months ago? I forgot what the hell it's called, but the previews looked interesting (from a cinematic perspective, at least).

I scared the shite out of my friend with The Ring when it first came out on DVD. I had already seen the movie. I knew a trick to make the house phone ring without needing another number. So when he got to the video portion of it I excused myself to "go to the bathroom" and as I heard the video end, I did the trick and the phone rang.

Oculus. Karen Gillan (to the left in my sig) was the lead female.
It was pretty good. Not scary at all, but more of a mindfrick. I enjoyed it.
