IMO LSU missed out on Brian Mitchell from Plaquemine.

Just off MSU's team this year/recent grads:

Benardrick McKinney
Chris Jones, offered and had a chance, but his level should have never gone unnoticed as long as it did. Big props to the MSU staff on this one.
Justin Cox
Nickoe Whitley
Johnathan Banks - not 100% sure, but I think he committed a year+ before signing day, so that could be why we didn't offer.
LaDarius Perkins

Biggest one to-date:

Blake Bortles. Begged Nutt for a scholly offer, but Nutt slow-played him and eventually got the commit Nutt was waiting/fighting for...Nathan...Stanley. After that, Nutt threw Bortles to the fire. Funny, KSU missed on Stanley(their A guy) and went with their backup plan(Colin Klein), who was a Heisman finalist. UCF was handed Bortles and I don't think anyone needs a refresher on him.

That's all that come to my mind recently.

How different things might have been if Bowden Wyatt had left one year earlier.

Oh, and Patrick Willis.

Drew Brees. Had several family members that went to A&M and we didn't offer

That's who I was going to write as well. Complete whiff on our part there.

That's interesting...I never knew that. Nutt was awful at managing QBs.

Jameis Winston. Bama usually has their way with the best players in metro Birmingham.

I thought Winston wanted to go to Texas? Was it both Bama and Texas?

ETA: I guess it's a pipeline miss either way though.

You probably can add Phillip Rivers to both Auburn and Alabamas list of misses.

Georgia missed on this kid named Cam Newton. Wanted him to be a TE.

Nathan Stanley
Chris Wilkes
Raymond Cotton
Randall Mackey
Maikhail Miller
Zack Stoudt

The 6 QB's signed by Nutt. Only one of them did not transfer out or, even worse, quit. The one that played his whole time(2 seasons) at Ole Miss was Randall Mackey, who was moved to RB.

Takeo Spikes out of Washington County HS in Sandersville.

Would have been like having Odell Thurman for 8 years.

Willie Gault out of Griffin would be another.

Deion Branch out of Albany.

Just off the top of my head:
Ed Reed
Brandon Jacobs
Marshall Faulk
Peyton Manning
Jacoby Jones
Warrick's Dunn
Travis Minor
Ike Hilliard
Landon Collins

ETA: glad the state of Florida has been so kind to us lately after blessing their schools so much in the '90's.

If David Greene goes to Auburn we would have won a national championship. As far as college QBs are concerned, I feared that guy as much as any QB we've ever faced. If we dont take Jason Campbell, David Greene was going to sign with us. He grew up an AU fan and wanted to play for us. I'm sure there are a ton. I'm not sure on Ware & Osi. Were grades a factor in either of their recruitment?

Dwayne Rudd - badass player from South Panola who went to Bama
Derek Pegues - South Panola kid that went to State
Will Overstreet - Jackson Prep kid, practically an Ole Miss pipeline for regular students, who went to Tennessee and started as a freshman DE

I wouldn't even consider Peyton or Eli b/c Archie (Ole Miss) was not letting them go to LSU anyway.

Holy crap is this true?

Regardless, rest assured Bortles would've either been a third string tight end under Nutt or regressed horrendously as a QB and never been anything close to what he was at UCF under O'Leary.
