Alabama back-up QB Parker McLeod to transfer

The Marietta (Ga.) native signed with the Tide as a part of the 2013 class and enrolled early in January of 2013 before redshirting during the fall. McLeod, who initially chose Alabama over the likes of Oklahoma State, Louisville, UCF, Boston College, Maryland, and others, has yet to determine his landing spot.
McLeod's departure leaves Alabama with five scholarship quarterbacks- Blake Sims (RS Sr.), Jacob Coker (RS Jr.), Alec Morris (RS So.), Cooper Bateman (RS Fr.), and David Cornwell (Fr.).
Rats off a sinking ship.

No. Jones was committed for a while before McLeod got on board.
Bama wanted two QBs in the 2013 class and after Bateman committed they basically held a QB tryout where McLeod outperformed eventual Tennessee signee Riley Ferguson.
It was a head scratcher back then as to why Alabama accepted his commitment.
ETA: Tyren Jones committed on February 21, 2012. McLeod committed on June 8, 2012.

He was processed to make room for the "close academic" people from the 2014 class that are going to make it.
