Why do you have to play FSU every year? Is it something that your state legislature required? Those aholes were scared to join the SEC. If they wanted to play the Gators every year, they should have joined the SEC. Daddy Bowden was a pussy for not joining the SEC. He wanted to win NC's and not conference championships. I remember all of the years that FSU went undefeated in the ACC. The first school to beat Bowden in the conference was NC State. I bitch about Mizz. Tigers being in the SEC, but being down in Florida, how many fans are going to travel to Boston, New York, etc. Go to the Georgia Techs message board and ask them about their school leaving the SEC. BTW, ask Tulane about their leaving the SEC.

Pretty sure the SEC is getting the last laugh in that whole FSU/SEC situation. No need for sour grapes.

We're not afraid of rivals or complain about schedules.

I think you are confusing Tulane with Georgia Tech. Tulane probably never could have kept up with LSU but Georgia Tech sure has lost position IN Georgia since leaving the SEC.

Its indeed a fricked up situation but it is what it is. They really don't have to play a true hard nosed game until the last game of the season against us. The ACC is dogshit.

I bet that the Tulane fans wish that they would never had left the SEC. Tulane left after GT left and look at how that worked out. Tech joined a conference that is sub par to the SEC. Look at where Tulane currently is. Both of those schools were charter members, but both dug their graves and are currently rotting in them. When Tulane was in the SEC, they had the largest stadium in the conference. That stadium was torn down and now Tulane is going to play in a new but way smaller football stadium. When Tulane played LSU in the Dome, the dome was packed with Tulane fans. Back in those days, I'd say that they fan support was 50/50.

Interesting. I was kind of curious about Tulane's support historically (since the recent dome attendance hasn't been that great).

I saw a pic of the old tulane stadium, and yeah, it was pretty cool

Everything isn't 100% sports oriented 24/7/365, strange huh? Some schools actually strive for academic levels much higher than some schools...Ga Tech has a great engineering program and Tulane has...well cool night sports and eateries close by...Ga Tech has the Varsity and gunshots late at night just off campus.

Vanderbilt has very high academic standards and they are proud of them...everyone cant be top 20 powerhouses or want to be...doesn't mean they have failed. Im proud of UF and its achievements in the classroom as well as the sports programs continued success..

There is no lawful mandate to play FSU every year. It's a common misconception though. Carry on.

It's something they threatened to get the series started. Then they complain when we won most of the games because it started too early for their program.
