@JasonKirkSBN: You can have part of the 1983 title, Auburn. But 1993 is ridiculous LINK

From the schools official website
quote:

The Auburn Tigers began competing in intercollegiate football in 1892 and have amassed the 12th most wins in major college history. The NCAA recognizes Auburn as National Champions in 2010, 1993, 1983, 1957 and 1913. The Tigers have won 12 conference championships and 22 bowl titles in 38 appearances.

I admit Bama claiming 1941 is ridiculous but AU claiming 1993, when they didn't play in a bowl game, is ludicrous.

what is real ridiculous is that the NCAA recognizes AU as 1993 champs and they were the ones you put on probation.

Doesn't Bama have a NC claimed where they lost a bowl game?

When did the Bowl Coalition or whatever come into play?

Well the NCAA only recognizes selectors as being more popular and they list those. So not sure why they included that specific lingo

And, yes, Princeton media guides claim 28 national championships, which includes that time the Tigers went 1-0 in 1870. Top that, SEC.

SEC should invite Princeton just off this
