I think his name was Collins. I remember that recruiting class where they said they prefer Collins over Robinson.

He's still at LSU and has a great chance at being drafted in the 1st next season

Collins was the #1 OT in the country by anyone and everyone.

Collins is a much better pass blocker than Robinson. We'll see where he goes next year.

Lael Collins would not have been drafted as high as Robinson this year had he come out early, but next year he is a potential first-rounder.
Yes, that Greg Robinson - Louisiana native, sure was a great player....

Thanks. I was just wondering how these guys that generate big discussions when they were being recruited ended up. I guess we'll have to see where Collins gets drafted next year.

I think even Robinson may have been surprised he was drafted that high - it was cool to see him and his Mom so elated when his name was called.

One of the main flaws in Robinson’s game is his tendency to have sloppy hands. There were many plays in college that he was called for a hold simply because he would grab onto a jersey and hold rather than move his feet to stay in front of the defender. The NFL is much more strict on the holding call, and that could be a major issue for Robinson in his first couple seasons.

quote:

Robinson also had trouble holding a couple of blocks on quick-screen and and hitch passes. Allen got away from him on one such play to help with a tackle for loss, and A'Shawn Robinson got away from him on another. ... A fourth-quarter sack by Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest came off Robinson's side, but the tackle was assigned to an inside rusher and DePriest took advantage of a missed assignment.

quote:

Catches edge rushers and rides them wide but must learn to slide his feet more consistently or he will draw penalties for holding when matched against NFL speed. Can be a bit high off the snap. Can play too low, at times, leaving himself vulnerable to over-arm swim moves."

quote:

Limited experience as a pass protector at run-heavy Auburn. Flagged for 75 yards including 8 holding penalties (many in run game)

Nah, that game turned out be more beneficial to Auburn than it did for LSU. It made Auburn better, just not 13 seconds better.

I heard they were comparing Robinson to Orlando Pace, said he has that kind of abilities or potential.
