He most recently led the Central Missouri Mules to back-to-back MIAA championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2007, 2009 and winning the championship in 2014. He led the Mules to the NCAA Men's Division II Basketball Championship in 2014 by defeating West Liberty 84-77.[1] He played collegiately for the University of Missouri.

and he apparently runs Phil Jackson's triangle offense

BUT...speaking of Phil Jackson. If you want something, anything to be fairly excited about, to buy into this "well it worked with Bo Ryan at Wisconsin" stuff...I'd offer you this. Especially you younger folks who don't know who KA was and may not even remember the Michael Jordan years. But I damn well know all of you remember the Kobe Bryant/Shaq Laker years, ain't nobody on this board THAT young who doesn't at least remember that.

Well that triangle offense that the Lakers won 5 championships with that Phil Jackson ran and Tex Winter designed that everyone always talked about? You know that one? Mizzou is gonna be running that triangle offense now folks.

So what say the rant? Would you hire Kim Anderson as your coach?

I'm sure he could excite your fanbase as much as he's excited the Mizzou fans

Absolutely not, or the Tenner coach.

No. But my school is probably the exception in this conversation.

Quit hating on Kim. She's a fine coach.

I'd give him a shot over some of the proven terrible coaches in the SEC right now... granted that's not saying very much.

No. Only because of recruiting concerns.

I'm torn. I like KA and I've watched him coach UCM live but would I want him at UK? We have to have an extremely media-savvy coach. So, no.

I would have liked the hire...10 years ago. Whenever they hired Quin, they should have hired Kim instead.

One problem right now is his age. Let's say he even gets the ship righted. How long will that take? 4 years minimum before we make the tourney again? Great, so now the guy is in his mid-60's and likely to retire within a year or 2 unless he coaches into his 70's like Boeheim. So now you have to hit the reset button all over again and suffer through another 4 years while another new coach rebuilds his team.

If he was replacing John Pelphrey, I would allow it.

Since he wouldn't be, not a fan of it.

He is a great X's and O's coach, but my concerns are recruiting, but even then in basketball it's more about chemistry and playing as a team. So I bet he will be successful for Mizzou even if they only get 3 star and juco players. He will take them to the tourney most years once he gets a foundation built, though that may take 3-4 years.

But I wouldn't want him over Frank Martin.

They made the hire to not be a stepping stone, but that sort of playing it safe will take them to rock bottom.

X's and O's is so over-rated in basketball.

You can be the best at drawing plays on the fly, coming up with base sets, teach multiple offenses, scheming opponents, etc but if you don't have the Jimmies and Joes it isn't going to amount to much...
