Tennessee fans react to the hire

From WBIR

quote:

Great hire. Better winning percentage than when Pearl was hired!

Everything worked out. Coach Martin moves on to Cal and we get a great young coach! Funny how things work out in the end...

I like it a lot. He sounds like a great coach from all I've read. Go Vols!

I don't think this is an upgrade. Couzo Martin just made the Sweet 16 and Tyndall has only been to two tourneys…

I am excited. Dave Hart knows basketball and it shows with this hire. We will be fine moving forward if we give him a chance.

Cautiously optimistic. Just hope it goes better than last time we hired a Conference USA coach lol

For me it's a win/win situation. Either Tyndall has success here and sticks around a while or we bring Coach Pearl home in a few years

Don't think things are set up for this coach to succeed. With Pearl at Auburn it will be tough not to compare. Pearl is back at UT in 3 years.

If Mr. Martin thought Pearl's presence was tough, imagine a coach that has to play him every year. Will be tough to live up to BP.

Just bring bad Coach Pearl. I realize it wasn't possible this time since he just went to Awbarn, but we need to suck it up and make the obvious move.

He is actually a good coach. The problem is you have downgraded. I still can't believe that Vol fans are actually happy losing Martin and hiring Tyndall. SMH

I guess you have to be a UT fan to get the fascination with Pearl. He got them in trouble with the NCAA, why do they want him back?

Cal's gotten every school he's been at in trouble why do you keep him around? Ticking timebomb, imo.

Really? Are we still going with this? Do a little research before you post again. Thanks.

Tyndall is one of the better coaches that's emerging on the scene. Southern Miss was probably the best team in the state of MS this past season. They beat Mizzou at Columbia and hung with Minnesota at their place before running out of gas. Possibly the best hire available anywhere right now. USM basketball will likely return to obscurity again. Tough break for about a thousand fans.

They were and that's not saying much.
