Sound like a proud dad. I hope it works out for y'all. Auburn is a great place to go to school.

I'll be the first to get behind a big corner. 6'4"? Nice.

But the 177lbs needs to go up. Like ya said, he's running track right now, and of course he has time to grow into the frame. If he was 190lbs of good, clean weight on NSD, that'd be a plus. Would have to see him play, but he'd probably get a look at Safety over Corner with most coaches.

Based on what? He could have great hip flexibility. Just because he's that tall doesn't automatically mean he plays safety.

I know that. But most coaches will still try him at Safety. I would not. I'd take big corners all day.

Yes he is my son sorry bout the punctuation guys was in a hurry lol.

My best advice from someone who played D1 and works camps every year

At that ht and speed (actually good for 6'4 and long limbed) work on his catching, ball skills, route running, WR skills overall

Once he gets to college they are gonna switch him to WR, too tall to play CB, a long limbed guy has a lot harder time being a quick twitch and lacks hips and athleticism in most cases. Also his knees are too high almost always gonna bang with WRs who get physical and at that ht is gonna struggle

These are from Tony Gonzalez but still great technique training for WRs

How to catch from Tony Gonzalez

Across the Middle

Now he probably likes to hit right? Which has kept him at CB well that 2nd video will show him skillset and examples that he can use and show he can still use that aggressiveness just on offense instead of defense.

Lastly at his ht he should be at least 190 so a regimented diet to build muscle since he already works out for football.

Best of luck man he will thank you later for changing him over when he is a D1 starting WR with that damn size and speed
