a kid growing up an Auburn fan isn't near the level of fandom that we, on this board, typically broadcast. These kids pick out favorite schools based on favorite color, rustling parents' jimmies, for parents' approval, etc. They have no real reason for being a fan of any school typically. So when a kid says they grew up a fan, that usually has no impact unless the kids' parents also grew up huge fans of that school (and by fans I mean the type of fans we, on this board, are).
