I am told that they they would toss some large money around for the 'right' guy, but I would need to see that to believe it.

My opinion is that if you're going to call Greg Marshall for example, you better be ready to write a check for $2.7-ish. I'm skeptical that they would do that, but Brent and I both have had some sources insist that they would. We will see.

Talked w #247Sports Tennessee expert @wesrucker247. He feels Colorado coach Tad Boyle is high on the realistic candidate list for UT.

Yes. Has made the playoffs 3 times as a head coach in the NBA, but I think he is a real long shot. Comes from the Kevin O'Neill tree.

Seemed much more likely last go around.

Rick Byrd is a hell of a basketball coach, but he's too old... he had his name in the running in the past, i believe.

Belmont is as well coached and fundamentally sound of a basketball team as you will see right up there with Wisconsin.

Rumor has it that #UT #VOLS have reached out to Shaka Smart. He does have distant family in #Tennessee, it is a plausible move. #VCU #Shaka

Vols, Hart top options from what I'm hearing: 1. Gregg Marshall 2. Ben Howland 3. Archie Miller 4. Donnie Tyndall 5. Mike White.

Host on SiriusXM

Says Tyndall and White would take the deal. Marshall and Howland would come down to money. Doesn't think Miller would take it.

Pitino Jr. was listed as one name to watch on 247. The other was the guy out of FSU.
