Derrick Henry is apparently doing really well this spring.

I wonder if anyone bookmarked some of the posts during his recruitment (mainly from rival fans) that said he would never play running back at Bama.

Yes, and I'd like to remind everyone that I took back all the doubts I had about him before he got in a game once I saw him play in a live game for the first time. He's going to be a good one.

that is some seriously high praise from saban. hope the oline isnt terrible so we can see what he can do. his combination of size, strength, and speed is crazy, and it sounds like he is a high character guy who works really hard. sky is the limit for someone like that

I don't think I've been this excited to see a person play football in my life but this guy just has something about him. He's a RARE talent that is going to explode this year. SEC PREPARE YOURSELF AND READ MY SIG.

This is great “During the Oklahoma game, I could tell that they didn't want to tackle me,” Henry said. 8 CARRIES...8........NUSS this is why you're not at Alabama anymore.

ESPN article on Henry posted today.

It’s almost laughable to think about it now, but for a long time people questioned whether Henry was cut out to be a running back they thought. He was too big, they thought, too bulky to fit through running lanes they thought. He was too tall to have the proper pad level they thought. THEY THOUGHT....WELL THEY'RE DEAD NOW.

This is random, but my kids got a puppy for Christmas from Santa. We got a white lab last April, and they decided to name him AJ. He passed away a week after the Iron Bowl. We struggled on a name prior to the kids getting the new pup (Coker, Foster, and Henry were our options) because we wanted a tag for when they first saw him. We ended up going with Henry. I was worried because I was naming our dog after a third string RB.

After seeing the Sugar Bowl, I feel good about that decision. I hate he didn't get the pub he deserved coming out of high school, but it has served as motivation and I can't imagine to think about how good he can be if he stays focused.

haha good story! I don't think it will be hard for Saban to make Henry the starter if Yeldon keeps up his fumbleitis.

Thing about this is it wasn't just a few here and there. NONE of them thought he be good at all.

Well color me sane for actually taking the wait-and-see approach. You don't run for over 12,000 yards in the state of Florida without being decent at your position.

I admit to being one that doubted his future as a UA RB, just because of the slow start/injury he had, our stacked RB position, and his atypical RB size.

Boy I'm glad that i was wrong.

Could easily be the GOAT at Bama when his career here is all said and done. Wouldn't be the least but surprised to see him starting over Yeldon by half way through this up coming season.

I wish he could start over Yeldon regardless. I'll never look at Yeldon the same after last year. I hope that was some sort of sophomore thing though. I hope he ends up having a fantastic career here but some people are just prone to fumbles and they way he holds the ball........HE PRONE.

I never went that far. I said he'd probably be a good RB. I just didn't think he'd be GREAT without a great O-line. After seeing him in some games, I think I may have been wrong. He has much better footwork than what I saw in his HS film.

I thought he would be moved to LB, honestly, with his size and athleticism. Plus we already had a LOT of highly rated RBs in the fold.

I'm so glad I was wrong though. Henry is an absolute monster. Eddie Lacy power with more speed.
