More college football fans watched Auburn in person last season than any other team, according to the National Football Foundation.

Auburn led the nation with 1,204,185 fans attending 14 games, including the SEC Championship and BCS National Championship, in 2013. Auburn also averaged 85,656 fans in eight home games.

Thirteen teams drew more than 1 million fans during the 2013 season.

The Tigers finished the season 12-2 with a 34-31 loss to Florida State in the BCS title game. The ESPN telecast drew 25.6 million viewers and was the third-most viewed cable television program of all time, according to the National Football Foundation.

The 2010 and 2013 BCS title games rank first and second with audiences of 27.3 million and 26.4 million, respectively.
ESPN's BCS "Megacast," which broadcast a variety of camera angles and different programming of the title game, had a viewership eclipsing 26.1 million.

Well, you did play in one more game than everyone else besides FSU. Without that one game AU would be around 4 or 5, depending on the attendance of the championship game.

2012 was still better at AU than attendance at the hog waller in Arky. But do whatever you need to feel better about Coach Bellyma

You realize other conferences have championship games and then play in bowl games as well, right?

How many of the teams on that list played in their conference's championship game? FSU & AU.

All this did was add the total attendance for all 14 AU games.

No, they had a person go around at each game and ask every single fricking person in the stadium if this was their first time to attend a game that season.

Well duh, Captain Obvious. Of course AU & FSU played in one more game than everybody else. Isnt that what you want to do??
The story simply said that more people watched AU play this past year than any other team. That is true. Doesn't mean that others didn't average more per game, etc. Means just what it said

15 teams played 14 games...next year, however, only two teams will play 15 games.

Hard to believe that game achieved those numbers since it was probably just Alabama fans left watching by mid-way through the 3rd Quarter.

ETA: And shouldn't that technically read the 2012 BCS Title Game?
