Clay Travis: Save the millions on fighting this and get to the bargaining table and give the players $10,000 stipend, plus medical benefits (no additional cost) in addition to the average $15,000 tuition.

The recruits, mostly black underprivileged, will beat a path to the door.

The Supreme Court spanked the NCAA on the anti-trust case in 1984 when the NCAA limited TV exposure per team to a few games each year. And the NCAA lost recently on the Ed O'Bannon video likeness suit. A class actions (millions and millions of dollars) was ordered.

Profit.

They can't do this stuff till the NCAA let's them. The NCAA won't let them until there a new division.

That is why this is a clusterfrick.

Not sure why you stopped. He knows a lot more than you.

Maybe if you kept reading you would learn something.

So what are universities going to do when college athletes who play baseball, basketball, softball, tennis, etc. start to file lawsuits demanding the same kind of amenities?

He's brilliant. There's two ways to do the shock media thing in sports.

Go full Finebaum and change your allegiance to Bama and let the fans be idiots on your show.

Go full Clay Travis and completely bash the team in your state creating a big stir every other day and bash the other teams the remaining days. If Clay just talked sports no one would know who he is. He has to create controversy.

Jim Rome is the King of this crap. He sucks but everyone knows who he is.

Travis actually has some substance at times too. He was the best person anywhere at covering the sec expansion stuff a couple of years ago. Nailed everything during that time.

No, they didn't. They were just ordered to go to mediation, which no one expects to resolve anything. EA settled for about $40 million to get out, but the NCAA cross-claimed against them to bring them back in.

Needs to STFU about this.

As soon as you monitize it you invite the leaches in and they will get the kids $$, not the kids.

No he's not. He's almost certainly one of the smarter individuals in sports media, the question is whether he's more sport-intelligent than others.

Nor is he hack, unless you're comparing him to a true sports journalist (which he isn't).

Clay is annoying and biased, but definitely not stupid or dishonest.

John over at Mr SEC was better and earlier. Clay just rehashed his stuff later and threw in some Chip Brown crap. Chip Brown was like the dude, spin all kinds of fantasy then take credit when one got close.

John called Missouri very early on (like 2010) when everybody else was saying we would raid the ACC.

Hasn't been paid out yet, but after fees and costs it will be split among all football and basketball players during the class period. Estimates are $50-100 per player per year they "appeared" in the video game.

Travis was the one that laid out the tv markets and got in depth with the conference revenue streams and how much each market was worth. He did really good job there and was spot on.

Ncaa has an army of great attorneys. They set aside millions to pay them to litigate yearly.

Read an in-depth article about th ncaa and their legal teams a couple of years ago when the Psu stuff happened. They are very good and they have been anticipating lawsuits like the current union one for decades.

Yeah, but he was using stuff already posted on Mr SEC and a B1G site. Combined them later on and passed it off as his own. At least he used to be entertaining on the radio but now he and fellow law dog Matt Jones @ UK they have just worked to drive ratings over real content,

His continual bashing of Alabama and Kentucky has gotten old and stale but he keeps it up because it is easy. Panders to TAMU because they do not know his whole routine yet. Just wait till he turns on them and they get the wake up call.
