I don't get it is it the shoes not fitting properly? Why not try and work with them to improve their product?

Quality of apparel gap is closing and fast. Was a problem with shoes back around 09-10 but for the most part it is close enough to not be a big deal
For basketball it is AAU recruiting. Nike and Addidas hold summer camps and sponsor AAU teams. Gives those teams and coaches a built in bias and reason to drive them to affiliated schools and lock out UA schools
More of a problem when you try and recruit nationally. Regionally it isn't as huge a deal since Auburn is a know. Quantity. We just screwed over our AAU connections regionally which sucks because it makes it doubly bad

Like what has already been said there is little to no issue with Under Armor equipment and apparel, the issue is with the money trails.

As you probably understand, recruiting is all about relationships. A NYC kid for example who plays for a Nike AAU team has no relationship with an AU coach. If we had Nike, it gives us an in to talk to him through his AAU team and his coaches have to keep Nike and their schools happy and allow access and advantage
Now, locally/regionally it isn't as big a deal since we should have relationships built with local AAU teams and people because we recruit from them. Problem is, AU screwed arguably the most influential AAU coach in AL maybe the Southeast. So we can't recruit the AAU teams we have access to

Mark Komara from Huntsville and coach of the SouthEast Elite AAU program. They have taken a step back in the last year and now only coach at the 14 and under level so this may not be a problem moving forward.

I don't think it's an issue outside of basketball. Cam had a huge part in the advancement of their football line. Their running stuff still suck but as a company, they have a huge following among younger kids right now.
