Spring practice begins on Saturday, so let's all get up to speed on what to watch for. This thread will encompass spring and fall practice, so you can come here for all the Bama updates you need.

Before we begin, we all need to show our gratitude to the football gods that the sun has still gone up every day after that one day in January (and November), and a new football season is finally upon us. We will be a top 10 preseason team loaded lots of talent both young and old ('sup Jai?), a big-armed mercenary at QB, Lane fricking Kiffin calling the plays, Nick Saban at the reigns, a yellowhammer in one hand and a drunk sorostitute in the other.

Let's get this party started.

So let's get down to business with some positional breakdowns and things to watch for:

Linebackers

Safeties

Cornerbacks

Defensive Line

Offensive Line

quote:

Alabama will hold their first practice on March 15. As has been the pattern, practice will be interrupted by the University of Alabama's spring break March 21-28, resuming the following week.

The annual A-Day Game is the fifteenth and final practice of the spring. It will take place on Saturday, April 19 with kickoff at 1 pm CT. The game will be televised by ESPNU. Replays will likely be available on espn3.com.

Admission will once again be free to the public. Traffic and parking will follow regular game day guidelines. More information will be available on uagameday.com as the date draws nearer.

RB has the most talent, especially if Bo qualifies.

We have a lot of linebackers. The answer to your question is not the center position.

I think center will be one of the strengths on the line the next few years but the LB and RB corps have the most talent.

My favorite thread to follow on the year besides the recruiting thread. Nice to see that time roll around again.

I'm most curious this year to see if and how our defense changes. We have so many elite fast twitch guys on the front 7, this should be the year we show up against HUNH teams.

WE are absolutely LOADED at WR too. I don't get why all of you are underrating this team. This will be one of the best teams we've had in years if Jake can just be AVERAGE at least.

Derrick Henry is actually up 3 lbs to 241 this spring, per UA’s roster. And, yes, he’s still an incredible 6-3. Dude’s a load at RB.

Alex Scarborough ?@AlexS_ESPN 50m
Big OL Brandon Hill did some work, shedding15 pounds to get to 370. He came in to Alabama a year ago pushing 400 pounds.

Some other noticeable weight changes: M. Smith +15, Liner +14, Tomlinson +12, E. Jackson +13, G. Smith +11, Tenpenny +11, Reuben Foster -8.
