Didn't know this Marine was an Auburn fan. Don't give a damn if it's been posted. Definitely deserved, amazing sacrifice.

Leave it to a Bammer to try to derail a thread about the Medal of Honor.

Carpenter is a lifelong Auburn fan. His father went to Auburn. He had been to Auburn games before, but 2011 was his first Iron Bowl.

Poor guy.

Might be worse watching that game than taking a grenade in the face.

That man is a true hero. You should be proud to call him a fellow fan.

But this man made almost the highest sacrifice for his fellow man.

I just find it kinda funny to tie his amazing story in with auburn football.

AU football is not tied to this story. It just says he is an AU fan and went to a game.

Because a kid enjoys college football?

Can he not have more outside of his life than being a Marine?
