Last year's FSU D being so dominant makes me wonder if Saban is going continue to struggle without Pruitt.

Not sure if bait or serious. Why don't we wait to see what Pruitt does with Georgia's garbage secondary and underachieving defense before we proclaim him to be the source of Alabama's defensive success from 2010-2012.
Alabama had some great linebackers from 2009-2011 while Sal Sunseri was the coach. Look at what he did to 2012 Tennessee's defense. Tennessee went from having a Top 30 Total Defense to the 110th total defense in 2012.

coachcrisp, why do you keep looking at 1 game? Since when does 1 game out of 13 or 14 prove how good or bad a team is?

Based on your logic, LSU and MSU had the best defenses in the country last year. AU had at least 100 yards of passing that was left on the field during the IB. WRs were wide open all night. Bama was on the heels in the 4th Qrt, that is why Nick Saban tried a 57 yard FG. He did not want to go to OT.

Auburn had wide open wide receivers because Cyrus Jones just didn't belong in Alabama's defensive backfield; he wouldn't have started at Florida State. The fact that he was the #2 cornerback last season shows the desperate times the Crimson Tide were facing last season.

Surely you realize that I'm just rustling a load of Auburn jimmies, don't you? Trust me, I know how good and bad Alabama, Auburn, and FSU offenses and defensives are. When I read the title of this thread, I knew that I was getting ready to have some fun!
You see, Aurora, what these Auburn clowns haven't come to realize is that along with achievement in a sport, comes a ton of opportunity for criticism...and they fall all over themselves trying to defend their team when a few well placed comments pop up....and the OP hit the mark!

It's page 14 and you still think the OP made this thread about Auburn.

He spent most of his time trying to argue that Alabama's defense was better than FSU's too.

when they don't see the best teams on a regular basis,

Yet youre arguing for a Big 10 team to have the best D? hahahahaa

certainly he didn't want it to get to OT,

Obviously he regrets that. It was a very dumb decision.

jernigan is a beast, no doubt....that said, once auburn returned to their bread and butter after getting a little too fancy in the 3rd quarter, he started grabbing alot of air on the sidelines while the O (auburn's) was still on the field. so while someone of jernigan's ability certainly doesn't hurt, it's not the end-all either...

With a year of film on Nick Marshall and Auburn's offense, how bad will the SEC defenses shut them down next season?
They won't.

How many times do we have to keep hearing the "they'll be figured out" argument? Manziel played just as well this year as last pretty much. Worse running better passing. Oregon hasn't really dropped off despite the "years of film"
