By the end of Saban's career Malzahn will have a winning record. Agree or Disagree?

Right now Malzahn is obviously 100% against Saban, but take a look at what Malzahn did under Chizik.

2009 - An average team leads the whole game against the national champs until the last minute. The QB was average with legs made of lead. Definitely not someone that fits Malzahn's offense, but he made it work.

2010 - A win on the road for Auburn. 28 points scored on Saban's D.

2011 - No D1 caliber QB on the roster. You can't put too much blame on Malzahn. He didn't have time to recruit a highly rated QB with only a month on the job in 2009. The 2010 QB he recruited ended up being too awesome to stay another season. The 2011 recruited QB ended up being a bust, but he was a true freshman, so it wasn't like he was going to contribute much anyways.

2013 - Beats Bama with a cornerback at QB.

The future at QB will look great for the rest of Malzahn's tenure. His offense only had one bad game against Saban, and that was largely to blame on the QB play.

He's a name brand coach now and big time QBs want to play for him.

He will have some busts, but the QB stable is finally loaded. I don't ever recall a time where Auburn has been this deep at that position.

Gus has also never had a starting QB for back to back seasons.

This means more wins over Saban in the Iron Bowl.

He's getting credit for wins while he was OC, but not held accountable for losses? Typical.

He is only credited for his win against Saban as a HC. The other games were about offensive performance.

This thread will probably just be a flamefest but it is a good question, not just against Saban but Malzahn in general. How will he do with a 4/5 star QB. Also sustaining great OL play. People forget how good those units are when AU is successful.

Alabama's secondary and entire defense in general was shite this year compared to past years and everyone in the goddam country knows that. It was about 60/40 in favor of the offense that was the problem against our defense.

Not saying your statement has no merit because it is a good argument. But Auburn was playing a pedestrian Alabama defense at best. Only slightly better in my mind than the 2005 defense. Maybe equal.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume. Also, consider that cornerbacks are some of the fastest players on the entire team. If they have ANY kind of throwing ability combined with that kind if speed. Things have a good possibility of not ending well and Malzahn is a god at utilizing that.

was it the one that Ice bumped?

this time it's different since we didn't have a once in a lifetime QB. we did it with a guy who couldn't throw a football.

Considering the small sample size, I say Saban finishes around 8-7 against Auburn after 15 years at Alabama. That's the pace he's on at 4-3 right now.

Would you say Malzahn is a better head coach than Chizik and Tubs?
