Regarding TA

First of all, I want to preface this by saying that I'm just a team board admin. I have fun with it, along with WCA, but I try my best not to put on airs or act like my opinions and feelings on any subject relating to this board or TAMU matter any more than anyone elses. This is OUR board on the rant--I hope that all y'all feel similarly.

The problems and concerns some of y'all have had with different aspects of TexAgs.com are well documented. It is unfortunate that the atmosphere of that website has turned off so many of you for a variety of reasons. And I'm not here to belittle those reasons or denigrate your frustration with TA. Hell, I've even said a couple of choice words about it myself, so I am hardly blameless. It is what it is at this point.

But what I have realized from multiple sources recently is that this board is a haven not just for those that have become disenchanted with TexAgs, but also another outlet for Aggie information and banter for people who use multiple sites (yes, including TA). I think it's important to remember that folks here use this board to communicate for a variety of reasons, only one of which may be to get away from the zoo. Many times, folks (not even Aggies) are reading just to get a different perspective on things related to Texas A&M.

What most folks do not come here for, however, is to read the consistent bashing of another site. I'm not saying I agree with everything TexAgs does. I'm not even trying to give some cliched "we're better than this," kind of speech. WCA and I will continue to strive to keep this board as free flowing and under-moderated as possible. I have neither the time, energy, nor inclination to "police" every topic, every thread, every discussion that happens here.

Please just be mindful of the fact that tAggyArk™ is about so much more than airing grievances about TexAgs, Tiger Rant, or any other site. This board doesn't have to be in competition with anyone to be a great Aggie hangout to shoot the shite. There's not enough places on the internet to do that, IMO. Therefore, mitigating polarizing rhetoric in the interest of keeping this sub-board welcoming for as many people as possible can only serve to help us in the long run.

Again, I'm not a site owner either here nor on TexAgs. I'm not acting under the orders of Looch, Chicken, or anyone else. Just a heart to heart with y'all from Tbird
